Possibly a new RS200 owner...

S'up petrolheads!

After a particularly stressfull MOT with my Saxo recently and a newfound job security, Im wanting an upgrade!

Atm, Im looking into a FF200 with Cup Chassis and Recaros. Any advice when buying new? Whats the post-sale service from the dealer like?

Im booked in for a test drive on Friday. Soooo excited!

Cheers, Charlie.

welcome. post sale service is great from some bad from others. 200's are great. what colour u after? is it a factory build cus be prepared to wait 13 weeks like me :worried:

Hmmmm I'm not sure I could wait 13 weeks  I may have to search around a bit. What advantages are there from getting a factory order? Still undecided on colour tbh, I've narrowed it down to Racing Blue, Alien Green and Glacier White.

Gw is very popular and I like it alot athough as I have recently found out there way too common imagine in 1 or two years te used 200 Market will be a wash with gw 200's

Racing blue is very nice indeed although show stone chips alot but I get alot of comments on mine " ophh what a nice colour " etc etc

I like the green lots of appeal and the best thing do an auto trader search there is a pre reg one very nice avalable for immidate delivery !

That was my worry with the White actually, I think Renault were clever making it a cheap choice. It also seems like a bit of a fad from 2008 too. Lairy colours may be the way forward!!

I think I've seem the Autotrader one you're talking about, if it's the one I've seen then I believe it's from Perrys in Alesbury, only 30mins from me. I'm not sure it has the Recaros though, what trouble would I have swapping the Recaros into it? Plug and play or will warning lights come on? I'm not sure if they are airbagged...

welcome Charlie,

deffo go for R/B best colour by far, lol

mine didnt come with Recaro,s either but i had some put in from a new 197 at the time £500 including fitting bargain i would say.

That was a steal! Thats cheaper than the option from Renault, where did you get them from?

:welcome: to the site

Saxo eh? Saxperience are you from?

My stronghold for a good 5 years that place

When you test drive that car after having a Saxo, you WILL want one, can absolutely guarantee it

Right, not happy with my local Renault dealer.
They postponed my testdrive twice on very short notice. 2 weeks later I turned up for the drive and the bloke dealing with me was too busy. On top of that, they failed to tell me that I wouldn't be able to drive the car due to my age! Madness.

Overall a really **** experience. Everyone was super patronising and generally lacked any enthusiasm. Anyone recommend good dealerships in the SE?

Go to Toomeys in Southend... John King (RS specialist) is a top bloke, IMO. Go to thier website... good selection of cars when I was last there - 197s & 200s. Think most dealers have a 21yrish age limit due to thier insurance... otherwise you should be fine.

Also, cant seem to find any 197 or 200s On thier site now... still worth a go though.

Its ridiculous they can't Insure a 20 year old for a test drive. I'll be forking out the same 18k as anyone else, just seems stupid that I'm supposed to do it without actually driving the car first.

Thanks for the link btw.

TBH with you, I had the same problem. They think "oh look a little chav wants to drive a proper car".

I had the EXACT problem. It was only when I phoned up and complained to the dealership manager, did they then take me seriously and let me test a 197.

They are stupid to say the least!!!
