Mixed Spark plugs?

Changed my spark plugs today. Two were Bosch the other two were NGK. I was experiencing a lack of power from 5-6k revs or there abouts until now. I put four new NGK plugs in and the car pulls much better through the same rev range.
I'm thinking this was the problem, does that make sense to anyone?

Could be old plugs that were your problem, wrong gaps, or indeed the mixed plugs.

What bodge artist would even consider that.......?

Glad your sorted. Cheaply too !!!

When you say lack of power did the car hesitate under load at all ?

If by load you mean foot flat to the floor through 2nd and 3rd gear, then yes there was some hesitation in that upper rev range. I'm not sure what it was like if I held it at say 5.5k or 6k rpm. I'm going out later today and will see if it continues to be improved.

I don't fully understand how it works but my thought process was that the Bosch plugs look to have a slightly bigger gap and that perhaps at a point where Valve timing alters then the gap has a more pronounced detrimental effect? Would be interested if anyone can explain if this is the case without taking up half their life to write it out!!
