Megane Trophy

It's a Trophy R. You can't buy a new one, so this is as close as you'll get. Someone will buy it at that price no doubt!

It's a Trophy R, only 30 in the UK so if you want one then you have to pay the price.

I'd love one. Is the only renault I'd change my Trophy for.

It does look pretty horrible to be honest. If you had 46 grand to blow on a car why would you even be considering a Renault meganne? You could have an insane car for that money if you went hunting.

This must be a joke surely...

Not even full spec (no 2 piece brakes, no Li battery etc).

Someone must be really mad to pay this kind of money for a 2L fwd car lol. Megane trophy R is a good car but not that good...

25 years ago What would you pay for a decent mk2 escort rs2000 not much I'll tell you, now a decent one will be at least 20,000+ mk1s are even more valuable. Strange things can happen to the value of cars.

Though personally I'd rather have an r26r.

For a collector maybe, but for anyone else you are into used porche/Aston Martin money there. You would need to have money to burn to buy that meganne

and with insane running costs as well.....

If you are spending that sort of money on a toy then running costs are really of no concern

you would be surprised by how many get something "expensive" and then when it goes wrong/need to spend they haven't the money....

That car will never sell for £46k. I can't even see them appreciating that much in the future either especially considering their high price tag to begin with.

Look at R26Rs, they cost around £24k brand new to begin with and they are nowin the bracket of £22k without showing any "going up" signs, people simply refuse to pay crazy money for a special Renault model, no demand and hence no appreciation.

I'm afraid they can't compare to the blue oval special models of the past.

but practically no loss in value in 6years!!!

Very true Foxy and for a Renault this is a good thing.

However we are talking double the price here for the newer model, this is a mega jump price wise..

As has been said r26r s are holding value sure you can't compare it to the likes of an rs500 Sierra but mk2 rs2000s wer worthless 25 years ago, now they are worth a fortune. And that's not even a ltd.edition car. All cossies are rising in value. Mk2 golfs are rising in value now faster than mk1s. My grandad sold a decent mk2 gti for less than a grand in 2007, that car would now be pushing the 4-4.5k mark. I can't see them reaching mk1 prices but delta integrale evoluzione 1 and 2 are fetching ridiculous money now as are e30 m3s and audi quattros.
There may be little demand now but over time it may slowly rise. It is unlikely to be worth anything but more in 25 years time
