Megane discs

Hi all planning to upgrade my discs/pads soon (ish...) wanted opinions on the Megane OE disc grooved version, its a fast road setup so considering my options looking at M Tec they dont appear to do rear discs anymore, could not see them listed - prefer the 'look' of grooved discs that's probably sad, but it is what it is.

Was looking at Bremo HC discs and they are quite cheap, but are the Megane discs worth the extra coin?

Pads I would be going with the DS2500's as they seem to be the best option for me.

I've got Megane R26R rears but haven't fitted them yet so can only say they look very nice in the box, nor have they rusted in the box

Ok interesting, pity their not fitted yet and another question is it probably worth adding some hammerite before fitting I see some of the other guys here have painted their discs..

Where did you source yours from and out of interest what front you using?

Try RPD for the rears. Hammerite probably would be a good idea, maybe belt and braces as they seem to have a coating already (maybe a chocolate coating like the gearbox  )

Fronts (also waiting fitment) are 355mm Reyland two piece.

Have Mtec stopped making the rears for a clio??not heard that..depends on your budget..tbh with you you probably wont notice any difference whether they are Mtec or meg discs..it's all about the looks in this case..
both look really tasty i have to say

Interesting stuff, I was looking at discs etc back at xmas time as trying to plan out exactly what I was going to do and the Reyland and Godspeed 330 discs came up then as I recall I saw some negatives about them - Infact I contacted godspeed and they were not very helpful so gave up on them.

Hmm really like the 330 discs, the PF ones are the daddies, but at £750 a set thats a bit rich for me!.

When these being fitted interested to know your opinion.

Not saying they have stopped making them, i just couldnt see any listed on their site, I contacted the online chat, waited ages had no reply so I gave up.

Some of the feedback I have seen on here has put me off with their 'special coating' which appears to be not that special!

You can use R26.R rears (like above):
http://www.roadtrackraceparts.com/renault-oe-grooved-brake-discs-rear-renaultsport-clio-197-200.html

Also here is the R26.R Fronts:

The above a grooved, if you look on RTRP there is also drilled.
Speak to "George Snee" on facebook, he owns RTRP and can sort you out good prices (shop around still and give him prices you've found, he can normally match them).

You mentioned earlier you won't really be on track much? If so I would go with OEM and some uprated pads, maybe some braided brake lines and better fluid, you'd have great feel and they'd work well.

On the subject of Megane front and rear discs what are the advantages going for the R26.R grooved over the R26 drilled discs? I will never have my car on track but would like to upgrade for purely looks and like OEM parts.

I think the drilled ones can crack. The grooved ones don't.

Yep what Gordini wrote, they can be prone to cracking.
I am going OEM discs (well Brembo HC fronts, OEM rears) with OEM pads, but will have some CL RC5+ for track.

Thats where i saw the discs to and the links i added to my first post! - seems RPD are slightly cheaper and Kam racing also.

Im just open to discussing what others have used etc, I like to learn from other people expensive mistakes!
