lowered performance with new cat back?

Recently had a manifold fitted as was a dodgy weld on previous that was cracked. Only had the car 11 weeks. I've noticed power seems to have been lost, the pull isn't quite there. Any thoughts?

could be a few things...usually,when a new cat back is fitted you might experience a flat spot around 2,000-3,000 rpm...mine does it too exactly from 2,5k-2,8k...a remap should help

What system? Usually you will see very slight gains with a cat back.

It's just the standard system, why should it alter though when it was a replacement? It did run better on a cracked exhaust haha. Not impressed though. Did wonder about a remap. Not a cheap job though eh.

Thank you and Ive read about the flat spot and you're right it is around there. Just lost its pull. Seems more sluggish. Only had it done on Fri so shouldn't they put it right?

Well you shouldnt need to remap it if it was swapped standard with standard.

It still has the centre silencer in place?

My thoughts too. I'm ringing them tomorrow, it should run better not worse surely. Have you had a remap and if so is it a safe thing to do? Wouldn't mind extra bhp;-)

I took it to a Renault specialist so I expected it to be right. As far as I know everything is how it should be. Worth getting checked out elsewhere?

Depends where you get it done really.

You wont gain much bhp, just smoother.

as Chris said..if swapped for a standard back box you shouldnt get this issue really..but who knows what happens to the ecu after a swap..maybe still adjusting ??

I saw this earlier. I would but saving for a hol haha. Reckon I'd need quite a bit of juice to do that. Love a good road to run though. I went to Kirkby devils bridge today but the restrictions and the police spoiled it a bit. I'll think about it.
