Hi guys, I’ve got an 2009 clio 200 sport, both my lower ball joints are shagged and causing my wheels to wobble and squeak when turning and very wobbly at high speed, i ordered 2 new lower ball joints from eBay they were genuine parts for £65. Me and my dad planned to change these our self, mainly my dad as he’s a lorry mechanic. But this didn’t go to plan.. we stripped it down wheels off brakes offs down to the hub, then we started having problems and I wanted to know if anybody else had these problems if they’ve done this. 1st problems were undoing the bolts as they were that seized up they wouldn’t budge, even with an impact gun they struggled there were 2-3 that we couldn’t pass. The next problem was the ball joints, you have to put a Allen key/torque bit into the end of the joint to stop it from spinning and then undo the bolt, the bolts were that seized up the Allen key started spinning and rounding off the end .. that’s badd we tried everything wired brush all types of cleaners to remove rust but struggled this was the same with all the bolts and nuts are so badly rusted. I’ve rang a specialist and booked in, are they going to be able to do this ? Me explaining doesn’t tell you how much we actually tried, my dad did a lot to try budge them and not break anything or round anything off.. any advice on what we should have done will help me in the future for problems like these
