Got a lot of love for Honda Type Rs. Used to have a EP3 Civic Type R myself a few years back, or a 'bread van' as you Teg owners liked to call them haha.

As far as modern cars go the Clio is probably about as close as your going to get handling wise to the teg, so good choice!

I've only had mine about 4 months and despite a few little niggles I can't fault it. Handling is lively and fun with loads of feedback through the wheel and it's actually a bit quicker than I expected too, it doesn't feel that far off my old Civic in fairness. It's also quite surprising how the 5k kick is very similar to VTEC too, despite not having any cam switching trickery. Mine seems to completely change once it hits 5k which I was surprised at, because a few owners had said it feels soft and you can't tell compared to the older 172/182s.

I'm not as sure. Yeah the DC2s are fantastic cars but they are quite old now and very very raw/basic. If you want something a bit more modern/comfy but still retaining good handling and steering feel the Clio 197s are up there.
I'm sure the OP will take a few out on test drives to make sure it's right for them.
