Kangaroo issue

Hi,
I brought my 197 last week. I am totally in love with her I have always wanted one and am so happy. There are few little problems I just want to check that it is nothing major.
Kangaroo when first start the car in the morning. It will do a couple of jumps and few pops then runs fine and will run fine the rest of the day Is this a common problem or is it somthing more serious?

Odd noise when driving at low revs and you put your foot down. It sounds like a sewing machine untill revs pick up (ramdom description sorry) not sure if it is then induction or I have manifold problem. Dose not do it on idle.

Just want to check that she is running ok apart from that I love it.

Can't answer about the noises as I can't imagine what you mean.

Cold start running is a bit crap in these cars, if it bothers you a remap will sort it and iron out the flat spot in low revs too at the same time.

Welcome what your experiencing is what we call the cold start issue there is some things to check and ways of getting through it when it happens. What I find is if you start the car first thing the idle rises if you have time to wait until the revs drop back down to say 1000rpm and head off there is less chance or the kangaroo thing also what you might find is a dead spot where the car while trying to accelerate seems to die the more throttle you give the more it seems to die, the way around that is to take the load off the throttle then bring it back in slowly the car should come out of it quicker. All this most likely will happen in the first 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile if the car is started and driven off right away. A thing to check is the MAP sensor (Manifold Air Pressure) it reads the pressure if the air into the engine so it gets the fuel mix right well the seal on it is not the best so we tend to put a cable tie around and over it to hold it in place to help the seal and give a more accurate reading not too tightly but enough to stop it moving around. read this thread to understand more about the background of this I apologise for the first posters icon it's not the norm.

As for the noise get a recording of it also let use know the setup of the car if it has an induction kit the CATS removed etc. what you could do is go to a Renault sport specialist in your area and explain you just bought the car and can they give it a quick once over or get them to change the oil while it may cost a little bit but if it takes the worry away and lets you know ahead of time if you need to budget for some work it's worth it.
