Jimmy's Deep Black R27 no.243 - Goodbye kid, it's been a blast.

Big box ticked this week - the belts, water pump etc was done. Second time around of course, with her being 10 years old in September.

Work was done at Park Street Motors by @trevor milnes - came highly recommended by @Pav and I can definitely see why. Trevor is very knowledgeable and helpful, honest and did a great job with the belts. I'll be very happy to take my car back there in the future. Trevor also checked over the suspension, as I thought there was a knocking.... turns out it was just my paranoia, as per

Thanks too to Pav for his hospitality while I was over his neck of the woods in Manchester! He gave me a tour of the area in the revitalised Witch, including a run down his private test track  and as for those builder girls we saw in KFC...:hearteyes:

Loving this mate. It's a very good feeling driving a car you've just put a load of maintenance into.

Good to see Trevor treating you well too.

Pav provided a Manchester educational tour for Jimmy and Jimmy kindly paid for our lunch :uk:

Bet it wasn't the only time Pav has chucked his bone in a greasy bucket.

Glad all sorted Jimmy, now go find something new to worry about [emoji16]

spot on..think Jimmy will discover another knock or rattle somewhere else..:poke:

Thanks for all the comments.

All I could think of then is the video to satisfaction by benny benassi

They were definitely hot enough to be in that video! Too many clothes though, and lacking some big equipment in their hands :smirk:

Thanks, Shuv. Not so sure on the 'worry-free' part, given my history of paranoia

Yeah, Pav provided the turbo-boosted tour of Manchester :sunglasses:

Thanks, Mes. It feels good knowing that the work has been done now - it's always at the back of your mind when you know it's due, even if I had a few months to go...

Likewise, Trevor, was good to meet you too. Definitely a very happy customer!

Just read builder girls - pics?

No photos sadly dude, so can't actually prove that they even existed :smile::smile: but you've got no reason to doubt me and Pav..... right??

There's no doubting that Pav knows the Secret Recipe when it comes to the ladies. He can spot a tasty box a mile off...

Shouldn't take long to find something else - the money in the R27 fund has to go somewhere....

High time for some photos and a bit of an update in this progress thread - they've been pretty thin on the ground haven't they..... :flushed:

With the car being very much a daily driver, and also therefore having work colleague passengers in and out all the time, it's been far too easy recently to forget what a special car an R27 is to own. A lack of time to fully enjoy and appreciate it has also contributed.

At the start of the month I took a drive over the Pennines to Park Street Motors in Manchester, where @trevor milnes gave her the annual service and MOT. A clean pass on the test, and a top job from Trevor, had me very happy indeed.

Since getting the car I've had it serviced at a different garage each year, inc main dealers and local 'specialists'. Each time I've always come away slightly disappointed at the overall experience I've had - whether it's ridiculous pricing, things being missed, underhand ways to add extra money to the bill, and a lack of attention that I feel a car like this deserves - so I've always resorted to trying someone different the following year. So to now have found a garage that actually ticks every box is a godsend. Just a shame they're as far away as they are! Any chance of moving to Leeds, Trev

Yesterday, I spent a good few hours giving her a proper clean, inside and out. DB definitely is amazing after a good detail, if I may say so myself. The refurbished alloys really do look nice too - why did I ever leave it so long to get them done

Anyway, enough of the words, here are some photos. Thanks for reading.

Small future plans:

  • TPI Black wheel bolts to replace the discoloured ones currently on.
  • Some replacement number plates - perhaps gel, pressed etc - any suggestions??

Thanks.

Nice little update Jim-Jam. Had a small pang of sadness when I saw a black Mk3, I hope mine forgives me for what I've done :worried:
TPI bolts are just the icing on the cake and will go really well with the wheels, I think they're M14 1.5 28mm tapered (from memory, don't quote me on it!)
I think gel plates will also look awesome, they make the front of any car look pretty interesting.

Great pictures Jimmy, the car really does look great! I can echo what you said about forgetting how special the car actually is with it being your daily - I am exactly the same at the moment. But when it gets a good clean and then a nice drive out it certainly reminds you how brilliant they are!
