yeah my mechanic winged at me!
was well worth it tho!
So an update for all.
Car was fitted with the new hybrid turbo and decat. We also found a new engine lower mount from ktec underneath so we swapped that over too!
So I headed up to Leeds on the Wednesday and was meeting Simon at rst where we would swap the injectors.
Drive down was awful with the snow But I managed it. Got to rst an hour early due to the uncertainty with the snow. Pulled up with excitement to find it was shut Simon was on course to be there within the hour. Thankfully we got hold of Paul to find out what was going on. He was very understanding and didn't realise his secretary didn't ring us. But either way both cars got sorted quickly. Mine was on the dyno straight away. We discussed figures and decided to go for 340bhp and 340flbs. Which isn't crazy as it would easily hit 360+ but I wanted a nice reliable figure on the clutch. So as the dyno runs went we was seeing it was struggling. The next dyno run it blew a boost pipe off, from what we could tell this was leaking for quite a while. Once that was 're tied on we was hitting very high figures easily. But we found a problem with the fuel pressure at 5000rpm. Scratching our heads Paul changing his lambo sensor on the exhaust probe and tried again but the same issue.
So we come to the conclusion the fuel pump is fucked some how. Which is a first for Paul to see. It was just running too lean. So the car has been mapped but needs to go back for a new fuel pump and another run on the dyno. Shit happens but atleast it was found there and not half around spa.
So a lovely drive back where my Satnav decided to take me past cadwell park and the car beached it's self. Safe to say I crapped myself. Middle of absloute no where. But after an hour of digging with my hand underneath the car I managed to get going and got back safe and sound!
Who needs winter tyres anyway.

good work. So what figures is it running at the moment?
340bhp 340flbs in race mode but not using it until the mixture is running more rich incase i melt a piston or valve.
normal mode is around 300.
enjoyed that..very well written..shame you have to head back to Leeds at some point..Give @Jimmy a ring..sure he would be up for a brew...
let's hope it's a knackered fuel pump now..
can you feel any difference between a before and after this surgery??
Yeah its a shame but with normal weather its a breeze.
yeah defo pump, cant be anything else. Injectors are running fine. Obvs 630cc injectors aswell.
yeah power holds alot stronger and longer. but i cant use full beans yet.
So quick update.
New genuine fuel pump! The Renault ones are molded together inside a plastic housing so Paul couldn't get inside to put an uprated one which is a shame! So its going to be quite expensive but atleast it will be done!
Ive also decided to stick a ITG intake Induction kit on while im there so the map doesnt need any tweeks which should help with general performance even if shes been wound down.
Tyres are on the Evos which im happy about. Cant wait to get them on the car..
Decided ill be driving on these to spa and taking a spare two oem wheels in the boot just incase!
