Hello

Hello good people

My name is Ryan and am based in Leicestershire. Me and the misses have a 197 that is completely standard apart from the Renault sport exhaust tips.

Thought I would join up to say hello, get some ideas and information as im fed up with Renaults service and pricing.

Welcome to the forum Ryan.

A lot of people get their cars serviced indepenantly from Renault. You can buy service kits that have all genuine Renault parts at really great prices from a member called Twingogeeko, he has his own section called "Ask Karl"

Now lets seem some pictures of your beauty

Thanks Fernadez, will have a look at those from Twingogeeko, anyone know any specialists in the leicester area that can do the servicing for me, have 2 other cars that need servicing as well which i need to do myself  and as the 197 have full renault service history wanted it stamping in the service booklet.

Also The car is a 57 plate and has only done 30,100 miles and Renault are saying it will need a cambelt on this service, anyone know when this should actually be done, as this seems extremely low mileage for a cambelt change.

Many thanks and will get some pictures up asap i do not have any on me at trhe moment, but will clean it up and get some posted

:welcome:mate, enjoy get yourself a paid up membership only £5 of your great British pounds and you will get discounts as well

It's mileage and time based, rubber belts just deteriorate with time so it still needs doing. It's not cheap but it's less than a new top end/block etc.

Every 5 years at the latest. My 57 plate needs doing in November or in 4k miles, so end of summer I would presume.

Cheers deadmau5 yeah have found this out today, so September for me or 42,000 miles :swear: looks like we will be digging deep or can I convince the misses to upgrade to a 200

As requested some photos of the 197, as I said it is totally standard so nothing special.

In the Scotish highlands on route Fort William, great drive up from leicestershire, some great roads to give it the beans.:thumbup1:
