hello

Hi im scott 25 from crewe cheshire i currently drive a vw golf gti but m fed up of i never really enjoyed the car but iam now thinking of getting a 197 so thought id join up, one thing that i think might miss is how quick the golf picks up.

scotty

:welcome: to the club mate.

Plenty of bargain well-spec'd 197 out there at the moment just waiting for the right buyer. Definitely a buyers market for the 197s now-a-days.

Which golf GTi do you have.
I came from the mkiv 20v 1.8T and the 197 feels alot quicker and you get alot more for your cash.

I'd say that's quite expensive for one of the first 197s. Being 5 years old you'll have to make sure it's had it's major service ie. Cambelt, aux belt changed etc. Expensive job (around £500). I reckon you could get money off that one or a better spec'd one for similar money.
