got mine outright purchase as I used what was left from the house sale once the witch had her share :foxspeed:

the megane is better screwed together than the clio (even though mine was one of the better built ones)

insurance about same - fuel economy slightly better!

Whats the interior like? Still a bit...plasticy?

'so far'

Fair play foxy. I am still very envious. Will you get it on track in the summer?

Nice one Foxy, Trophy 275 with the ohlins box ticked is a car to buy it seems, I just have to wait for the depreciation to do its thing. I must have seen/read tenths of videos and reviews and they all praise it, I remember this french racing driver reporting that he was absolutely surprised that there is no understeer at all and how great the car felt. Maybe that's why Renault was ''conservative'' with the power hike while focusing mainly on the chassis?

Have you ticked the cup tyres as well mate? From what I read - particularly at the RWD cars - they are dangerous on non dry conditions! Here is a video where they can't drive a 991 GT3 on wet silverstone with TC on!

Regarding the dampers and out of curiosity, do you know what the service intervals is and how much does it cost? My ASTs is like every 20k miles and cost around £120 per corner, I can live with that:smile:

didn't get the cup tyres spent enough on it!

dampers - no idea they will stay on until they break

ok so Renault doesn't actually give you a service plan for them neither say where to send them to (as to dealer or ohlins specialist). Wouldn't spend 1k on the tyres either, not really worth it if the car is a daily in the UK, actually they'd make the car worse!

Lovely car mate. Wish i was lucky enough to have one. Def fancy a meg 250 or 265 cup in the future. Hope you enjoy it. ☺

uk ohlins distributor is in Bradford :foxspeed:

well I had a couple of days off so decided given the brembos issue for seizing pins I would do what I have always done and give them a yearly strip &
clean and whilst at it a quick oil change...

I love your car Foxy, I really do...

Interesting to see that there are no Megane trophies (275) for sale at all, let alone any with Ohlins. That makes it more special:wink:

So are the mk3 megane's swivel joints the same as the clio? Less beafier than the mk2 meganes?

a friend have just purchased a 2nd heand ly trophy with ohlins.....

as for the swivels yes look very similar to the clio 197/200 - the earlier mk2 megane 225 etc have massive in comparison bearings top & bottom
