Gear lever squeak

So I noticed that my gear lever produces a slight squeak when jiggling it towards the left in neutral. The same squeak can also be heard sometimes when putting it into first or second.

Now I know this is extreme nitpicking, since you have to look for the noise to hear it (under normal driving conditions it is inaudible), I'm just asking if there is a simple cure for it (WD40 simple :tongueout:).

I think it could be coming from the gear knob, but I'm not sure.

I guess the hard part is going to be removing the leather trim. I might just wait until the next service and let the dealer do it.

i usually use a white spray grease with graphite for things like this - it stays around longer than thinner lubes

You can pull it away with your hands!
