From BMW Z4 to Rescuing a 197

Hello everyone! Pleased to be joining this community. Long story short I have bought a neglected 197 at auction and will be documenting what TLC it will be needing to get it road worthy again. To be honest I'll need some advice on the quotes I get and if I'm being ripped off or not, what to look for etc. Currently an owner of a BMW Z4 so will be interesting to see how the Clio stands up against it.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Here are some pictures of the Clio at the auction site and the only pictures I have of her at the moment. She's been delivered straight to the garage for an MOT. Looks like new brembos, tyres and a handbrake cable from my own inspection and possibly a new key card.

Welcome. Looks like the Clio has an aftermarket exhaust and the optional projector with cornering headlights.

What engine is your Z4? I seriously considered one of these a few years ago, but the missus wasn't keen. The one I wanted was the 2.5si, but they were few and far between. Lots of 2.5i and 3.0l cars.

My Zed is a 2.2i

If you look at the headlights, they have a grey surround as opposed to chrome like the standard headlights. Also, the dipped beam is in an optical 'dome' rather than a reflector. On top of that, when you turn the steering wheel between (iirc) 6-28 mph, there are additional lights at the outer edges that light up to help you see as you turn the corner.
