Fast road / blue print std motor

I have just bought a 20th anniversary with a blown motor . It would seem that it has run bearings . The engineering shop told me the bores where oval , although when I measured them they were not far out . Where do I find the bore and crank journal specs ?
I want to build a " blue printed " standard motor . Using std pistons and rods ( ARP rod bolts ) and just get what is there optomised . I will balance the bottom end . Maybe lighten and polish the rods .
Might see if there is any easy weight that can be removed from the flywheel .
Any advice on building such a motor would be much appreciated . I want to keep it as original and std as I can .
Anyone lighted std rods ?

i wouldnt bother with the standard rods....would fit forged ones for relaibilty whilst its apart

there is some weight to come out/off the crank - we had a few in work that were well machined off the counter weights

if i was doing one would be forged rods / lightend crank + flywheel (all balanced) better one piece valves inlet/exh better finish to ports etc would even consider first size overbore as well
