Clunking from the front of car

Having recently re-bought my 200 I’ve noticed that the slight clunking at the front of the car is a little worse than when I had it before.
It feels like there is something a little loose or there is play in something.
Either way, when I go over small bumps or imperfections in the road, with the windows down, I can hear a slight metallic clunking. I can also feel it slightly in the steering wheel.
I’m not familiar with the components that have likely failed, could someone please point me in the most obvious direction.
Thanks.

Ball joints are a common item to fail so they could be a culprit , I had a similar thing and one of the shock absorbers had some play in it.

Does it do it when steering, slow driving, cornering etc? Any more clues

No, don’t feel it on smooth/normal roads or when cornering/steering. It seems to be with vertical movement where it is most pronounced.

From experience it's normally lower ball joints or if that's solid the standard dampers do develop some play in them over time due to lateral loads placed on them.
