Clio RS200 Starter Continues to Engage Once Started

Hi folks,

Looking for some input on a problem that‘s put my RS200 off the road for a couple of months now.

In July, the car refused to start, AA came out and were able to start the car by baring back the exciter wire, and holding a wire from the positive battery terminal to the exciter wire (that had been bared back).

I did some research on the forums, and replaced the TDC sensor. No joy.

I then checked the fuse, which had blown. I replaced the fuse, car started fine. Over the next couple of weeks, the fuse blew twice more, and was replaced.

Took the car to my usual garage, they eventually replaced the starter motor, as they couldn’t find any other issues. Heat shield checked etc.

I got the car home, fuse blew again. Replaced the fuse, car started but the start motor continued once the engine was running and I had to disconnect the battery to stop it.

Replaced the UPC (apparently the starter relay isn’t replaceable). Starter motor randomly continues to engage, battery needs disconnected.

Appreciate any suggestions / ideas.
