Clicky clutch pedal

Had this now for quite some time but it's getting worse and far more annoying. Right at the top of the travel if you take your foot off it makes a metallic clicking.

Dealership insist it's one of the sensors which determines whether the clutch is depressed or not, and that "they all do that".

Anyone else had this and found out what it is or had it fixed?

Mine is doin the same mate, its going in to Renault tomorrow for service and some warranty work so will ask them to have a look at it then.

I can tell you that mine doesn't make a clicking noise using the clutch, well nothing that I have ever heard and I am always listening out for any creaks or rattles. So its not 'something they all do' im afraid, it just sounds like the dealer didn't want the hassle, if its not a big job at the moment you wont get priority. There have been that many crashes and accidents that most places are rushed off their feet.

I got some strange noises, when i start with cold car and when i shift the gears. Its sounds like plastic click on the front left side. When car reaches working temperature, then this noise disapear. :001_huh:

I get a similar noise, like a small "pop" sound - happens anytime you out the clutch down :S

The clutch itself in mine doesn't make any noise though, so not sure whats causing yours mate?

Ah well. I'll get myself upside down in the footwell and have a look when the weather improves. Or I'll get my trusty specialist to have a look when it goes in for service.

Remove the switch on the pedal and give the plunger a bit of lube. Also see if you can fire some lube on the pedal pivot/bush assembly, the ball joint on the clutch actuating arm and if you peel the rubber back on the clutch slave cylinder a bit in there too!!

Like you sad, a small "pop"... I already talk with my service guy on renault service, and he sad that I must leave car for a few hours in workshop to cool down, then he'll take a ride...

They all do this Fuego. Can't remember what it is but it's nothing to worry about.

Cheers Evs.

Probably (although I'm basing this on my knowledge of old fashioned engine management not these sophisticated newer ones) down to it running a bit richer when cold and dumping a bit of fuel through on the overrun.

Mine tends to do it more when the engine's cold.

the clutch pedal in ours is making a sqeakin noise, the thing that bothers me is that the clutch has felt a little funny the last few months, plus getting it into 1st and 2nd gear can be a right job at times but I think thats the box

Mine's done this for about the last 15k miles, its been into 2 different dealers who both said they could hear it but couldnt figure out what was causing it. At my last service I got them to check over the whole front end - engine mounts, suspension bushes, all the rods and linkages etc associated with the suspension and they said it was all fine. Just a bit of an annoying quirk maybe?

My non RS does this and a dealer said they cant hear it, Someone advised me to grease the clutch ratchet or something similar but I cant get to it.

Mine did this.

First they replaced the clutch pedal switch...still did it.

Then they replaced the clutch pedal...cured it for a while. Now its back.
