Changing Seats

Anyone care to explain the process of changing the standard seats to Recaros?

What all gets changed? Everything including subframes?

How long to leave the airbag off the battery before disconnecting the airbag?

Considering changing mine if it is easy.

four bolts per seat and an airbag connector - on the standard seats its on the side - remove the plastic cover on the side base of the seat and disconnect the multi-plug
(i didnt disconnect the battery to change the seats.....just left it for 10mins before unplugging)

disconnect battery and leave 30mins

recaros just bolt straight in and the airbag connector is underneath - just plug straight in - but need to make sure the resistor is fitted because they dont have "anti-submarining" airbags in the seat cushions

Does the resistor come on the Recaros fitted to Clios?

the resistor just stops the airbag light coming on. I have heard in the pas that the airbags fail to activate if the resistor isnt there.

not so sure on that...think the dealers can re-programme the system to exclude the missing bags - like on an r27

which airbag is missin. My seats av got side airbags. The deales can recofigure the ecu 2 the new seats thats wat i ad dun.

standard seats have side and front (anti-submarine) air bags

recaros only have side airbags
