Bruno's Renault Clio RS197 - Albi Blue

K&N or ITG amongst others can be cleaned and reused. Akrapovic will fit but you would have to either cut tailpipes or change to 200 diffuser. The LED bulbs make a difference. Is the leak coming from the small bolts?

I'm really used to K&N because of my Honda history, therefor I think I'm going to order one, thanks for the info!
I have to check the leak, I can't see where it comes from.

Nice little update

Little things make a big difference!

My lab helps me wash my car also, here she is - muddy!

She's a cutie!!

I think that Yianni's is my favourite build here, thanks for the info!

I just came here today to post some pictures, as some people told me they like them :excited:.
It was wash day...

Cheers guys.

Bruno. Firstly, congratulations for the biggest photos I've ever seen posted on a forum. 16mp or something?

Please mate, smaller photos would make your thread much more fun to open!!!

But... wow was it worth it, GLORIOUS photos mate. First one is just stunning. Reflections is the theme for the photo of the month, just saying...

Best photos I've seen on here in quite a while mate. They're just too big

Yianni's car... let me tell you this. I've driven it, and been driven in it, and it's AWESOME. The suspension set up is mind blowing and a real credit to Yanni's dedication to handling. There can't be manny Clio's that handle as good as his. Seriously, @Yiannis197 has built a really fantastic car. No show pony, it drives SO well and sounds SO good. The Akra is a definite definite win in my eyes, you won't regret it.

wow those pics! you def got skills with the camera Bruno. Great shots and car!

Mes thanks for the kind words mate and so glad you liked it. Suspension was my first mod and still fiddling lol!

Your R27 is coming along brilliantly though, can't wait for the end result! @///M

Hello everyone! First of all, thanks for all the kind comments and critics, I really appreciate it!

I've been having a lot of fun with the RS197, things are still pretty normal, only small things I did were a K&N air filter (box) and deleted the second cat and resonator, however, since I got the car I have what I call a "dead spot" and what I mean by that is, between 2500 and 3000 rpm, the car stutters at a certain rpm and from there on pulls like a train.

So, between idle and 2500/3000 rpm everything is great, and above that also.

I'm struggling to find out what it is causing that, because it's really a minor stutter where the car does absolutely nothing for a second.

Hope some of you can give me a hint or something, I would appreciate it.

For now, I'll leave you some pictures, tell me what you think about them. :thumb:

Absolutely love the pictures mate, you're quite the photographer!

Mind if I use the first one to edit and submit to the Website banner thread?

what you mean by "dead spot" is called a flat spot..its a very well know phenomenon that most of us,the clio owners, have experienced at some point..
it was caused by taking your 2nd cat and silencer out..the best thing is to revert it back to the original or have it mapped out by a tunning specialist...

hope you get it sorted soon

Read it again Pav, it is there since I have the car, that's why I find it awkward, and now I notice it further because I listen a little bit more noise, but still I think this is such a stupid problem, I even made the exhaust with a extender for the lambda sensor so it doesn't read wrong and/or give a engine light. :worried:

I was kind of twisting my nose already for the electronic throttle, but this stutter kills me, makes no sense, I will probably go somewhere to map the car and try to see where that problem comes from.

I'm very used to my honda where I always have constant power and a pure throttle feel at whatever RPM. :worried:

Let's see where I can go with this, or else the clio will be gone by the end of the year, which is a shame, It's a fun car on the corners.

Hopefully the flat spot won't cause you to sell the car, that would be a real shame... A remap would definitely help things out for you. In the meantime, are you aware that using a cable tie/tie wrap on the MAP sensor can help to minimize the flat spot??

Brilliant photos by the way :thumb:

Thank you Jimmy. Is really buggers me, I'm not used to cars with this kind of boring problems.. If I can't solve it, it will go away. It is super fun in the corners though.. But yeah, let's see how things work out.
