Brake discs, pads, pins

Hi Guys!

Ive been quoted £250 for parts for the renault discs, pads and pins. Seems quite steep.

Ive also been quoted about £100 for some Apec discs and Ferrodo pads (No Pins). Are these likely to be any good?

Are there brembo equivalent parts? If so where can I get hold of them?

Sorry for all the questions!

That's a pretty good price from the dealer to be honest!!!

Never heard of Apec before, wouldn't put them on mine for that reason. Ferodo pads are good, but if that £100 quote is discs and pads then I'd be asking what Ferodo pads they are as they're usually over £100 on their own. You WILL need pins, they're around £28 per set and you'll need one set for each side.

Try one of the traders on here, Karl (TwingoGeekeo) and Nicola (World_Of_Parts) are both very good.

Speak to Karl (TwingoGeeko). He often has deals on brakes. Has supplied me with pads and pins in the past for very good prices.

Ferodo Premier are the same pads as OEM. Use these and car has done a few trackdays and Nurburgring three times using them and never had a problem. Can be had and posted for £50 possibly cheaper is ask the right people.
Hmmmmm
Ferodo discs are around £110 posted out again if ask the right peole also.
The Brembo pads are actually made by Ferodo.

Thanks for the responses guys!

Firstly, Karl I really appreciate the savings that you have offered over standard Renault pricing, Its just that money is a bit tight coming up to christmas.

I was wondering the same thing about the Apec discs as I have never heard of them. The ferrodo pads on the other hand will probably be the same as the DS ones offered on the ktec website, I will have to check.

Thanks for the tip about next day brakes will take a look on their website.

I paid £20 for OEM spec front pads (Pagid) from Eurocarparts and £60 for OEM spec (Brembo) discs from nextdaybrakes. Can't complain at those prices.

Apec are fine. They're an OEM spec brand used in the trade.
