Bonnet switch question

Hi all. A quick question re the bonnet switch. I am having issues getting my alarm to work correctly. I know that if you leave a door or the tailgate open, the central locking will attempt to lock the car then immediately unlock it again. Should the same happen if the bonnet is left open? The switch appears to be working correctly, open circuit when pushed closed and closed/short circuit when opened.

When I lock my car with the bonnet open I get a long beep until it's fully closed, if you unclip the wire to the bonnet switch you can lock the car with the bonnet open (useful when working on the car).

I would trace the wire back from the switch to the other side of the slam panel as there is a connector there which might have come loose
