Average age and insurance ...

Hi Guys,

I have been reading a few posts recently on this site and others involving people crashing, rolling their cars (sad times). I noticed that a lot of people seem to be 19, 20, 21 years old etc.

I was surprised by this because I assumed that drivers of these cars would be older due to the very high insurance costs these days. I am 34 (just) with 9 years no claims, married, 2 kids etc etc and my quote is £500 fully c. Which isn't exactly cheap so I can only imagine that its sky high for the younger guys !

This brings me back to my original observation and it seems insurance companies charge a lot more for a reason . You can't blame them really !

I also have first hand experience with this topic as when I was 19 my first car was an Escort XR3i that lasted 6 months before I smashed it through a field (to fast round a corner in the wet) and then when I was 24 I had a Lancia Delta Intergrale that I also crashed after about 6 months of ownership due to excessive speed again :-(. I put this down to being a little too young and excitable to be driving quick cars !

oh yeah, and not having enough talent to keep em on the road ;-)

Anyway just wondering what the average age is of 197/200 owners on here?

I am 21 with 6 points. I know naughty boy. But I have learnt.
I paid £1040 this year. With 250 excess and declaring the exhaust

£600 fully comp at 23 is a very very good price !

Considering I am getting quotes of £500 at 34 ... what's that all about !? do you guys live in a town made of pillows with no risk of damage or something

what company do you use?

strell

that's not a bad deal either..

I am going to go and have a word with fat opera singer now and see what comes back ... lol

I got very lucky and put it on the company fleet policy:bounce::smiley::bounce:

25, £600 fully comp, will drop about 25% @ november renewal as my 3 points have expired. admiral.

think i pay a little more as i live smack in the centre of cardiff with only on street parking. when i did a quote for my parents house, same postcode but with drive/garage, they knocked £110 off.

It's little details like estimated annual mileage etc that can make a big difference.

36 years old,

£340 a year fully comp.

6 points ( speeding ). tut tut.
