as for the auxiliary belt.... Well there's a rib missing and this

After this all was dropped of at Renault I got abit bored but what cheered me up was putting graphics onto this beaut ready for its race in France!

And now this is how my car sits!! Had no pics of it since the coilovers were finished

i can also say the wind deflectors are a cool little mod, wasn't to sure at first but there pretty cool, also c3 washer jets are so much better! Made the drive up much more happier

oh c3 washers going in, shave and try shave and try, fit very good with some trimming

Alien Green, I love it, useta hate but kinda grew on me. I have an Albi 200 but would never have ordered that colour from new it's just that the car was specced beautifully otherwise. Enjoy the car, they're awesome whatever the colour!

Yeah it is a cool colour in all lights mostly looks abit flat.
Had this car almost 2 years now! Never had a car for this amount of time, love it. Coil overs transformed the car completely, but yeah just waiting for its next issue to give me an excuse to put the megane engine In

as long as the valve head doesn't drop there isn't usually any piston damage...

as for the auxillary belt looks like it was fitted wrong and the rear rib/belt has been fitted on the wrong groove causing it to wear through and go in to the cambelt
housing

This is what my dad had also said like they had it on the wrong groove or something and spun it over to correct it or levered the part on.

UPDATE;_________________________________________________________________

now, two weeks getting my car back it appears to be fine and pulling well like the car had been, untill this morning.
whole rear of my car covered itself in smoke :worried:
it appears there's a failure with the head-gasket which was replaced, which has lead to coolant now gone into the engine and out the exhaust, checked the car over for any visual damage at first, oil level was fine, however the coolant was empty, worried me...
i got under the car but noticed in the joins of my exhaust it was dripped out coolant.
not a happy bunny at all :worried:
hopefully Renault will be fixing this issue again.
just aswell i didnt put the car up for sale like i was thinking to, i just really fancy an Evo8 now, had this car a long time (for me) but now this has happened only 2 weeks after failing the first time and all being repaired. 1 and a half tanks of fuel and its gone up in a cloud of smoke

I would have taken it to a specialist for the belt change, obviously Renault aren't suitable for this kind of work!

I would have taken it to a specialist for the belt change, obviously Renault aren't suitable for this kind of work!

you say this but...
i doubt a specialist would give warranty with the changes, this is the only reason i thought id spend the extra £££ and give it to Renault as they give warranty after.
its already had thousands of pounds by Renault having new head rebuilt it all with all parts and labour.

will keep people informed with whats going to happen this time around.

You'll probably find specialists will give 12 months parts and labour warranty and will have done it correctly in the first place

UPDATE---------

so so engine has failed yet again with new piston and rings and shells, we weren't happy the fact they only replaced the ones that got hit rather than the whole lot that's been effected. Yet again another engine fail bottom ends failed.. So far Renault have told me its parts they replaced that have failed!!! I mean seriously, main dealership causing this much damage!

so currently in a battle with them and with a baby on the way I decided the Mini Cooper d was just too small and misses wanted a 5 door..
now ive gone to the boosted side and brought myself a megane 225 in 5 door! Win win. Did want to use it as a future donar car but it's a really good car, handling isn't it's best side but the smile you get from it is a different kind.
Being 5 door I think it's on par with cars like the mps3 cars that are overlooked. The "wolf in a sheeps outfit" kinda look, but here's a pic of the megane itself

Can't believe you have been so unlucky with the clio mate! Love the alien green colour. I have had my 197 for 4 years 2 month and the things I have had replaced have mostly been serviceable parts and that was through autocare. Like your 225 looks smart in black. You gonna keep the clio ? Heard a few instances of this happen with the aux belts! Poor that the aux belt can get behind the timing cover.

Picking up my old thread from where it left, Renault wanted to write the car off as the new engine they wanted was 5k.
long story very short, Renault payed me what I was due, I trailered the car and everything to do with my car, never realised there was so many parts!

like I previously stated, now was the chance to Meg it!

so this threads now revived and the cars having a 230 engine in it. Will upload some pictures later from other threads I've posted

Firstly il say this is copied over from my other thread so some pics are watermarked.

So here is my donar car, megane f1 230

That's it, engine out and all the parts I wanted were also thrown into it, managed to get some mk2 lights for my megane for the rear light conversion.

That's it for now, got allot of parts on order and we are still waiting for Renault to agree on a date I can bring my Clio home and get cracking on the conversion.
I will do a much more in depth build thread with much more in depth talk and pics for those wanting to do the build themselfs.

Just waiting on my new exhaust from Pure-Motorsport, paddle clutch from engine dynamics, some silicone hose for the radiator overflow, the car itself and then I can rip the loom off and I shall be carrying out the wiring myself. The ecu's will be sent to EFI to be reprogrammed.
Thanks all

Mocked up the hardpipe kit and Intercooler, just to excite me abit more about my build. Really fancied yellow hoses throughout. We will see what I end up doing by the time it's in the car

Small update;

This weekend I cracked on with abit more jobs on the build, started off rummaging through many boxes of Clio parts to find ones I needed, removed aircon rad to find Renault broke plastic clips on the rad itself, full powerflex inserts installed, built up my old Clio engine with the new head etc, cambelt and water pump change on the r26 engine, gave it abit of a scrub, pms AC delete pulley, heat wrapped the downpipe and link pipe, mocked my expansion bottle up in the bay then gave it a huge clean and now looks new (bargain) had a look at both the Clio loom and megane loom. Going to try do wiring as it seems pretty straight forward (he says) then have efi do the ecu's. Removed air con pipes from the Clios bay.

Cambelt on the r26 engine, had a choice of 4 tension pulleys due to the mess ups from the clios engine, so one was used on my 225, on the r26 engine also, same with the crank pulley.

Should have seen the state of this before, but trimmed the bottle down and made a bracket for it to sit

Small update, lots of pics

So I got messed around on eBay having to wait for forge to send to them then to me, so cancelled my order and ordered direct from forge. Finally they arrived and I noticed they hadn't been barely polished unlike my other set I got for my megane 225. Anyway to apologise they sent me a further 2 sets out one shot blasted set, and some polished ones, meanwhile I say at home polishing my unpolished ones. Now I have 3 sets! So big thanks for the great customer service from forge.

Since my downpipe gasket was missing I spoke to Dan at jaybee Renault, who managed to track me down one so I got myself a new gasket

7C78476E-9B95-474E-85FB-CBF624E55E17_zpsot2a9bpg.jpg

I started putting my r26 engine together making sure I had everything perfectly, hopefully my clutch will be here next week so the engine can be placed into my engine bay as that's what's stopping me currently, bolted my flywheel on, reading through the manual I read the Clios bolts stretch so again contacted Dan at jaybee to order up some new ones.
Meanwhile I got talking to BeanieaSport who I used to use with my saxos, he gave me some tips when building these cars, he built Stuart's ( martini Clio turbo ) also picked up some clutch cover bolts as Renault seem to have misplaced allot of my bits.

On the way out I managed to bump into the man himself, so interrupted his photoshoot and got talking about the cars.
Took a sneaky photo

This also made me remember I had my steering wheel and couple bits done at Royal Steering Wheels so had that installed! Looks the dogs dangleys

Then the time came where I removed my ecu and my engine harness from the Clio to have a crack at rewiring it all myself!

Again thanks to beaniesport for guiding me what to look for etc.
I used an online wiring diagram, however there was a few miss labeled parts so I drew my own diagram and what I wanted to do with the looms, quite a few of the wires and plugs I kept on the Clio loom which was mated to the meganes loom. I have finished soldering all the wires now, fairly confident it's all okay. On that note I won't be posting diagrams etc until I know what I did works,
So this was just after I'd done my last bit of soldering, I staggered these cuts on purpose because of where the loom flexes I didn't want strain on it.

F2402F3C-7821-4C89-8C3A-901F18D87A45_zps3r3qlbrp.jpg

I purchased some of Renaults cloth wiring loom tape also so I am going to wrap my loom in this to make the build look more factory, again never thought of this, beaniesport advised me.

Will be another update once my clutch is here and mated to my Meg engine

Thanks for reading

Awesome, can't wait to get mine done. What hard pipe kit is that? DannyAG200
