200 steering wheel silver ring

Hi ive been lurking on the forum for a while after moving from cliosport.net and buying a 200.
Im in the middle of painting a few interior bits to match my yellow strips and just wanting to know, is it possible to remove the silver ring in the middle off the steering wheel to paint.
ive to prise it off with a little screwdriver but am doing more damage to the plastic than anything else

I don't remember ever seeing it been done, but would be interested to know if it is at all possible!

Just thought it would look abit off if a sprayed the insert and the vents ect and still have a silver ring in the middle of the steering wheel
