Scorpion Cat-Back! Will be fitting tomorrow!

Hi all, Jut bought a scorpion non resonated for my 197 and will be fitting tomorrow. It says in the fitting instructions to cut out a 70mm section from just behind the lambda nut. Is that something that needs to be done or is that just there in case it needs some adjustment? Cheers.
