    220 Trophy

Mine is base-spec Trophy, so comes quite well spec'd, but doesn't have the RS Monitor, Akra Exhaust or Trophy full Leather seats. The RS monitor is basically software built into the infotainment display. It contains all sorts of telemetry information, oil pressure, temp, 0-60 times, that sort of...

    220 Trophy

Paperwork/Reg I suppose. The Phase 2 Trophy is certainly more easy to pick out of a lineup than the first Gen Trophy with it's updated wheels, front RS fog lights, Pilot SuperSports and I think some small interior changes too such as seats and gear knob/surround.

    Doing my CBT. Any tips?

Nice! I've got mine booked in for Early August (still feels like forever away but there's no rush). I wont be taking DAS until probably October and likely wont be chopping in the 125 until early next year. Shortlist so far is the DUKE 690 (purely due to it's weight - need to see how GF gets on...

    220 Trophy

There are gearbox software updates available from Renault, although I'm honestly not sure how this affects the shifting speed. I'm not sure if it just closes the gap, or makes them identical.

    220 Trophy

No problems for me so far  Probably getting close to 4 months ownership now (PH2 Trophy) - blimey that's flown by! As @Micah will tell you, getting the mid silencer chopped out opens up a considerably more addictive range of sounds so I'm glad I jumped on that mod right away. - 5 door...

    Doing my CBT. Any tips?

Weird timing - I've just completed my CBT on Sunday. Got a little Honda CBF125 that I'm sharing with the Mrs. It's good fun but even after just a few days it doesn't feel particularly quick. 0-30 isn't too bad, it'll nip away from traffic lights but being 6ft2 and the weight that goes with it...

    Clio 220 Trophy

Very little (nothing in fact...) going on with the Clio recently. Daily duties, commuting, the occasional heavy foot off a traffic light - I really need to make more of an effort to get out for a proper drive. Attention has been swayed somewhat towards a new toy - a little Honda CBF125. Both...

    Micah's Glacier White 220 Trophy

Those Sparco's look cracking and the offset is on point! You're definitely not helping my ever growing shopping list haha

    Clio 220 Trophy

2 months in and the bike carrier was finally called into service for the first time - it worked brilliantly. "Officially" according to the Renault RS-specific handbook, the RS Models list roof loading as 'prohibited' but with little logic or explanation as to why not (standard 1.2 model is...

New noise developed under the bonnet ...

I'd agree that sounds identical. Do you find that the noise stops when you push the clutch in? - if so then it's almost certainly the same thing. Due to the labour involved it was economical at the time to replace both the clutch and slave - so it may be worth considering that if you haven't...

    R26 Clio 200

Was thinking the same when saw the cage across the drivers door, bet that helped massively for the passenger. Looks like it was heavily responsible for not allowing the crash to further impact the cabin.

    Stealth grey...

I'm actually a little disappointed by that. Think it looks really tacky with the red bits. Maybe the photos aren't doing it justice. My preference would be get rid of all the red and replace with black (maybe gloss black) and then get a black pack on the car in general (front blade, rear...

    Clio 220 Trophy

Somewhat interestingly, my old 197 that I traded in is now up for sale with a £2000 mark-up at a dealer just an hour up North! They obviously weren't hanging around getting that auctioned off and tarted up. Looks like they've cleaned it up nicely, interior, exterior and engine bay all look...

    Clio 220 Trophy

Yeah definitely more in Sport mode, rather than just a single 'pap', its a 'pap plus a bit' :D There's something about the lift off from 3rd down to 2nd too that seems more vocal than between the other gears. Keep smiling each time I hear a few little pops. Somewhat surprised it didn't leave...

    Clio 220 Trophy

When the mechanic first started the car up after the work was done, I couldn't hear any difference at all - was really worried it was a total waste of time. After a minute or 2 as the system warmed up, suddenly the difference was apparent. Noticed even after just a couple of days and 50 or so...

    Clio 220 Trophy

The new roof bars were almost called into service for the first time over the weekend however after a last minute issue of finding my friends bike carrier was missing the correct bolts for the wing bars, we ended up having to go in his car instead - for now, they're still sitting box fresh...

197 alternatives for the same ish money.

Cooper S? They seem to span a huge price range depending what you're after and can have some serious power without throwing silly sums of money at them. Can't say I've driven one, but have 2 friends (one with the R53 Supercharged version, and one with the R56 Turbo version) and both seem pretty...

Remap in the West Midlands area

There's so much positive feedback for RS Tuning in Leeds, I think the ~1.5-2h drive from the West Mids is unquestionably worth it.

    Roof bar feet size?

Yeah pretty much as above - the foot pack is the black block that sits on the car roof and attaches to the bars. The fitting kit is then the bit that anchors the foot to the car, usually a metal bracket that fits to the foot and then attaches to the door frame or mounting points

    One for you Mk4 Owners

Not really convinced it would make much difference. I'd say my MK4 certainly out-brakes my old MK3 197 (and that was on new disks and pads). Money is likely better spent on braided lines, uprated pads and fluid.
