Hi Guys, I used to come on here around 6-7 years ago when i had my 197 cup which i sold for a V6 Clio hence the long absence. I've since somehow ended up with a Clio 200 now, Mk3 non Turbo on a 2009 reg previously owned by somebody on here. The cars near perfect, dream colour/spec etc...

How have they managed to get it so wrong? Wide, low and short and you cant go wrong with a hot hatch. Instead we've ended up with a narrow, long 4x4 ride height looking thing. Its just a hatchback, isnt anything hot about it. If they wanted to create another cult classic like many RS models...

Sorry guys, lt still looks dreadful. Doesn't matter what they do to the 200T bodyshape, nothing will make it desirable. I hope for the buyers sake they've ditched that rubbish gearbox.

I had similar problems with my 197, great car to drive on the right road, absolutely terrible car to own, hated it. I sold it for a Clio V6 and a little run-a-bout clio and despite the age...both are flawless. Proof Renault don't make bad cars as such...just you (like me) have bought a Friday...

The Merc is designed for people who know jack sh*t about cars. Stick to the trophy, far better drive. Reaction when seeing someone in an A45 - large bank balance, small cock ditto for RS car - nice, someone who likes a real drivers car, respect. Sorry, its a no brainer.

aye very true. Personally the front of the 197 by far and the back of a 200 by far. Every 197 owner i see uses the little exhaust tips (me included) :D
