Has your gearbox been replaced? Yes or no?

Had terrible issues shifting into any gear when cold, thought it was a horrific problem with the gearbox. Turns out the clutch fingers were deformed. New clutch under warranty and it's good as gold. In fact, it has never shifted better even when new so I reckon its been faulty since the day it...

High revs - wont go into gear

mine was horrid going from 1st to 2nd with some revs on, it just felt like a lot of resistance. Got a new clutch under warranty and its miles better. Renault said that the clutch fingers were deformed.

    Golf gti 30th edition

Sorry if i ruffled any feathers. I am sure once you have dropped the megane engine in, it will be able to keep with the Golf round a track.

    Golf gti 30th edition

It seems some are impressed by numbers only...something the Clio is never going to win. However the Clio's ace card is the way it drives and how it makes you feel when you push it. I dont think there is any reasonably priced Audi or VW that comes close to that - they are too clinical, too...german?

    Speakers

Simply not true - see my post above this. The JBL GT5-502 is fairly cheap so its very cost effective way of greatly improving on the stock sound system without a gaudy looking head unit ruining the interior

    Speakers

Nope! I am really happy with it until funds allow a more extravagant install They are JBL GT5-502 5.25" speakers that install easily back and front. You have to sheer off two mounting eyelets to fit them front and rear and also shave off the edges of the remaining two eyelets. Sensitivity is...

    Speakers

I saw a big improvement fitting co-ax JBL speakers front and rear. A heap more bass and less distortion. They had a very high sensitivity so well suited to stock head units with little power per channel

Completely stock running 100RON 169.10hp What are others getting at the wheels? I make it around 199bhp at the crank which is close enough to 200 :)

    Stiff Going into first

Mine has 22,000km on the odo, and i had the oil replaced because of this problem. The oil that came out was extremely dark, not good for such little use - and no track time either. Replaced with NEO diester based oil and it has improved a bit. Once warm it is great though

    #harrismonkey drives new clio

I am quietly confident that a more focused model will be released in the not-too-distant future with recaros, brembos. I cant see any form of perfohub making a comeback though which is a damn shame

    Vxr8

Its not a factory team though. SBR have been given approval by MB in Germany to use their name under license. They will be using a heavily modified and destroked version of the 6.3 V8, and Nissan will be using a Nissan Patrol V8, also heavily modified

You would be surprised. The large car is dead in australia, the ford falcon will be pulled in the next couple of years i reckon. The commodore fares better but is dwindling in the sales charts. For the first time in 15 years, the toyota camry outsold the commodore just last month. The only...

    Vxr8

Not really. The holden v8 is a large displacement motor which uses old skool OHV head design and 2 valves per cylinder. The aussie Ford V8 for the past 10 years has been a more modern smaller displacement DOHC design. The old Ford Boss v8 was a 5.4 litre and surprisingly wasnt as agile as the...

Yes they are, a 2.8 high feature alloytec engine. Engine is actually made here in Australia and shipped to europe to be fitted. Funny thing is, the Insignia is now sold here under the opel brand, and should the OPC models get released, it means the engine is coming all the way back here again LOL

Not over here they arent, unless its a tuning house special. The HSV VZ range (not the Monaro) came with the LS2 v8 which is an NA 6.0 putting out 297kw. After that the VE range came with an LS3 which is an NA 6.2 putting out 307kw. The latest HSV GTS also comes with the LS3 albeit tuned to...
