Much call for 197 parts????

I have a second 197 with a blown engine.
The rest of the car is very nice condition.. especially for black.

I'm in two minds weather to replace engine or split it....
What sort of money can the fetch being split??? And is there alot of demand???

There havebeen a few broken on here and they seem to have had parts snapped up, I suppose it depends how much room you have and how long you want to keep a second car for breakjng
 
Depends on parts and colour. Things like cup spoiler, projector headlights, brake calipers, etc all seem to sell well. Seats seem to be worth bugger all unless they are Recaros (though Cup bench rear seats sell well but arnt worth a lot) and its mainly for odds and ends. I think you will end up with a majority of a car sitting there for awhile and if its in good nick, why not sell it as a rolling shell for say £1200 for someone to drop in a 225 lump and have a cheap track day car?

It's black with new calipers discs and pads all round.
Renault sport splitter.
Newly coated wheels and new p7 tyres
Body work is pretty good for black.
Interior is nice but just base items.
Projector lights.
There is a aftermarket exhaust but unsure of brand.
I paid 750 for it.

I have since found 2 ads on the internet for this car at same milage... one from private seller and one from dealer... It's was 4k before the milage it's on now.
So 3 sales in 4k miles.
Strange as it actually looked to be someones pride and joy at some stage.

i used to brake 172/182s and would always at least double my money but as been mentioned some times you get lucky with the parts people are after as in you may sell a whole door card and all or you might have to split the other door and sell it all individually and it takes time i broke a clio almost 2 years ago and still have parts left but the one thing i didn't realise and forgot each time is how much work putting all the stuff on ebay is. its good braking the whole car and its fun but when you have over 150 parts that have the same description but slight variants its a right pain and gets so boring.
 
See, it looks like a very tidy car. Id be happy even getting another £250 for sticking it on eBay for £1000. Its screaming out for a turbo lump. Have you thought about contacting people like Beaniesport and Rentune who do turbo conversions all the time on 197/200s to see if they would buy it?

If you do break it dibs on the front splitter. And you have Xenon headlights there as they have washers, worth a bit more and you have the leveling sensors which are worth selling as new they cost a fortune. Wheels will always sell, calipers and discs would sell, swivel hubs would sell, bonnet, bumpers, lights etc.

£300 for wheels
£100 for splitter
£200 all 4 calipers
£150 all four discs or split
£150-200 for xenons
£150 per bumper
£50 rear diffuser
£150-200 depending on brand for exhaust

You could go on but as Carl above has said, is it worth your time?

I have contacted beanie sport regarding a replacement engine.i found what he offered extreamly good.it does seem a shame to break it to me and if I have the engine replaced there will still be a healthy profit in it.seems after seeing what parts sell for and the time involved ( I have a 8 week old and 2 year old,spare time is a thing of the past haha ) fixing or selling on are the options.

Regarding the turbo conversion it's all money that I can't spend...

I didnt know if Beanisport would be interested in buying the car as is to drop an engine in and sell it for a profit.

What are the levelling sensors???
 
All cars in the UK fitted with factory xenons have to have self levelling sensors (attached to a front wishbone and one side of the rear axle) which self level the headlights. On expensive cars it works, on Renaults is seems to daft. When I need it (Motorway) it dips right down. When I drive around town it is up in the air. They also need headlight washers.
