Clio 197 Ultra Red 2007 from Finland. April, time to start driving.

I have some news.
I live in row house, i dont know if thats correct term.

There is quite big heating system work starting where i live.
Basically they rip all asfalts away.
I have open garage for my car, but use of garage is not allowed during this project.
Because of that, i dont have any other place to keep clio than busy city street.
That is not option for me.
So i think clio 197 will go in my project garage and i take it out of insurance.
Work is scheduled between 25.6 - 28.10 .. :worried:

Maybe i drive with BMW or scooter, i dont know yet.

Last week i took car off from garage to MOT check. There was nothing wrong and fresh certificate for 12 months now. I drove car back to my storage.
In my country it is legal to drive without insurance for mot check and back

Our mot service offers free mileage readings.

My clio 197 2 last mot checks:
24.7.2018 112635 km
22.11.2017 111710 km
910 kilometres this year.. 565miles. :pensive:

Exhaust manifold flexi time..
There is little leak in one of the exhaust manifold flexis, i have that work scheduled for august. I dont know how much labour there will be, we see..

Parts list:

- 2 new bosal universal flexis
- 1 Genuine renault lambda sensor (when manifold is in the welding table easy to change.)
- Exhaust manifold gasket
- Clamp for manifold/middle pipe connection.

It will be interesting to see if there is any effect for driving when you have new flexis and lambda instead of small leak.
Both of my 197 which i have own (nimbus and ultra red) make some strange exhaust noise in cold. Like it is leaking. When car warms little bit noise goes away.

Genuine part, seems to be BOSCH.
I bought new because it was so cheap. 70eur/59£.

I did some research. Sensor which i got from Germany (ebay link):
Bosch part number : 0258006046

My local parts dealer shop confirmed this number, it is pre-cat sensor (exhaust manifold lambda sensor).
Also this website www.autodoc.co.uk says it is pre cat lambda.

https://www.autodoc.co.uk/bosch/1149022

Thanks Antti, I did same came to your conclusion, I have bought both pre and post lambda sensors just to make sure, as I sick of this error code!

Yep.. engine managment electronic faults are so difficult sometimes. Thumps up all goes well for you.

Car was ready yesterday 20.00 and i have been driving some kilometres now.
New oxygen sensor was fitted.

Old flexis

I dont know what happened my car ignition lock. Look this video.
Today i go for car locksmith if he can fix this or tell me what parts to replace. It is odd.
I took steering column plastics off, but there is no bolts or anything i can re-torque.
Edit: Fixed, locksmith torqued that bolt with punch & hammer. Sorted.

Subframe was lowered from car when replacing flexis, what do you think is tracking necessary?
Steering wheel is in straight position and car runs fine. @Foxspeed @turkie172 , any opinions?

Today nice weather so some driving

if its running straight then you could leave it...if its easy/not too expensive then having the tracking checked will keep peace of mind

Yep tracking price is approx 50£ in my local specialist. Clio is easy because only front adjustment

Good job..sorry to hear about your key..that's why we like cards :french:

Hey man, here was also key card option when 197 was new.
But first owner told me that he bought 197 so cheap it was possible to buy.. So no bells & whistles here and basic red colour.
Ignition lock problem is now sorted..
Car locksmith fixed it.
I also bought new shear bolt just in case it needs replacing later.

Good morning..:french:

Wont crank. Solenoid dont give any sound. Only relays click when i turn key.

-Battery seems to be ok, with jump cables no help..
-with spare key same thing.

Startermotor or ignition switch..?

could be a bad earth or powersupply contact at any point from battery to any point in the car, if the battery was very flat/dead sometimes you need to charge the battery with a charger for several hours to give enough to start the vehicle

Battery has been ok all the time, no any power problems.
I will update this when that specialist have time to work with my car. 1 week waiting time.
