Clio Meg RS320bhp conversion (update Meg Rad)

A good example of bad workmanship, rear inner brace bar had.....1 top bolt drivers side, no bottom bolt.( Due to bolt broken off in hole) Passenger side, top bolt had no fixing at all, and of course, there was no bottom bolt.I am still amazed at the things I am finding. Service history book, has written in it......Belts done.Would you rely on that?. Me neither, belts, water pump, will be done over winter. Car went very well at Spa, so yes, it is all worthwhile.

Next time you're on your way to Spa I'd suggest an overnight stop off and getting rs tuning or someone to give the car a good thorough once over. I'm amazed you're still finding these issues, but then not amazed as the guy who built it was a cowboy (Steve at SC Autos - thankfully no longer in business). It's good you're still enjoying the car though!

I have been under/over the car/up on ramps Sean, and cannot find any faults. (At the moment!.)I feel I may have caught up with the problems now. As expected, they sent the wrong Alloy/wheels, and now waiting on the correct ones!.

Sounds like you've got it covered!
Which wheels did you go for?

Who built it originally? @youngarthur
SC auto Bolton, no bloody wonder!.Its taken over a year, to get it where it is now, and as I have no faith/trust in the people who had it before me, as already stated, belts will be done soon, and before any more track days. When I asked about the belts, I was told.........look at the service history. Someone had written..... Belts done. Would you trust them?. Me neither. The car is as good as I can get it, and goes/stops really well. Its the driver holding it back!.

Cadwell 8th April, car going really well, noticed some slack in gear change, turns out cable problem, also time for rear disks /pads.When on track, car is worth every penny spent, a real pleasure to drive. Its a wonder there are not more 250 engine megs around.

Glad you are enjoying your car mate and you are happy with it.

Well you say that but the number of conversions I've seen lately is unreal. On this rate it seems that there would be no more NA Clios going on soon!

It would seem, its almost normal to use the 225 in a Clio, less so with the 250 in a Clio. There is definitely more hassle with the 250, cooling, a 225,or 250 throttle body?. I could do a page with pluses/ minuses, but which ever way, a very worthwhile conversion.
