Suj's Nimbus Clio 197 and E36 328i Trackcar

Glad you pointed me in the right direction. Cheers
Don't be silly, I hate sometimes giving recommenationsrin case they screw up haha, but yeah they were great, and a third of the cost of most places!

Need to drop off my other set soon too.

Haha thanks Adam, I know yeah, it's hard finding the time at the moment as work has got so busy and weekends are getting full of events too!

So it's easier to buy things when on your lunch break haha

It was a great car, started off as a budget build...didn't last long at all lol, I don't like doing half arsed jobs!

I've not been out in it, but seen it and heard it in the flesh, as my mate Al is very good friends with Phil and has done loads of videography for Driftworks (he currently still does the YouTube stuff).
It sounds so good, but so does his Lambo and the LSX V8 AE86 that he competes in.

Actually I've got 2 videos in Al's car drifting with Phil and Richard (Richard drifts for Driftworks)

Bloody awesome mate. Phil is a hell of a driver. And yeah that V10 he built was really quite something. I remember reading he said it took at least £50k to pull together and he'd never do another one! Kinda makes it seem more reasonable that the Manhart MH3 was £100k. And I still can't believe that Phil sold that car for £35k!!!

my alternative is read people's build threads .. but then I see stuff I want for the car .

think I might try and take up painting by numbers or something [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

That is why forums are so good and bad, good for the knowledge and people, bad as you end up like "oh that looks good" lol.

It was even more than £50k to put together, it wasn't meant to, but as all these things do, they get out of hand quickly! Yeah and apparently the car is sitting in a garage at the Ring rotting away since it had an off, Phil has been trying to buy it back.

They all are great drivers, but as he was one of the original drifters before it got mainstream, I am not surprised.

He's a car guy through and through, look how stupid we are, imagine if we had his budget to spend?!

What a shame that it ended up like that. Hope either he can get it back or it goes to someone who is going to get it back to full health.

And with his budget, yeah, I'd have no trouble with that!

So I finally had time to get my new dampers and eibach springs put onto the car.

So I had Eibach (20mm front 25mm rear drop) with standard non-cup dampers put on.

Took random pics along the way (messing with Portrait mode on my OnePlus 5T phone)

So good I did, the passenger front damper was dead, no oil in it at all, which causing a slow speed knock!

When it was up on the ramp, I noticed the pad on passenger side was totally worn, like not far off backing plate, drivers side had loads of life left (like near new). He testing the caliper and it was goosed, so he ordered a refurb one in (I had same problem with driver side so that was changed when discs were changed).

Then I went and finally got tyres swapped over to the Speedlines (spent the previous night sealing them with Gtechniq C5 wheel armour).

Also fitted some 21mm PMS spacers (will put studs on when I get time to, just wanted it to sit better lol).

Before (standard 197 wheels with no spacers)

After (springs still needs to settle)

Sorry not the greatest pics, but I'm away this weekend so didn't have time to get good pics, will take the DSLR out and take some better pics after a good wash.

Looking good however I don’t like the wheel colour with nimbus. I like them individually but not together.

Hope you enjoy the ride comfort.. why didn’t you fancy the cup suspension ??
