Suj's Nimbus Clio 197 and E36 328i Trackcar

Good to hear mate, i'm still not talking to you, for getting the Exige hehe, so jealous

No point moaning is there, yes it is annoying, but I wasn't injured, just my wallet is (and more to come haha). It'll be back soon, as it's my 75mile a day daily.

In other news, ordered trackrod inner and end from Paul @renaultpartsdirect , ready to go with the car.

Also getting TRW droplinks and anti-rotation link, they look straight, but i'm doing the whole lot to be sure.

Ha sorry mate. There is a secret formula... find a wife with a really good job and don't have kids!

Again, glad it's moving in the right direction and so swiftly mate. It's only money at the end of the day, you won't even think about it in a year or so!

Shit, sorry to see this, feel for you mate! My wife has just damaged her car agin today, last September being the last time :-( don’t know what she needs, fookin tug boat tyres all round it!

And she's fixed....

CJIv8NX.jpg

It looked worse than it was the garage said, it needed new upright (swivel hub and outer), new driveshaft, damper and discs (I changed pads too), but I said just change the lower wishbone while there to make sure.

Arch is damaged (lower part where the wing attaches to the sill) but I am picking one up on the weekend from Ade_T so should be like nothing happened haha.

I am dropping off my speedlines today to get powdercoated, then will get tyres swapped over and aligned.

It's so nice being back in it after being in that 3 cylinder Toyota Aygo rental I had (but reverse camera was useful lol).

Supper pleased to see this back on the ground and hopefully putting a smile on your face mate. That sounds like it's gone as well as you could have hoped really. Damage list doesn't sound too horrible considering you probably were thinking it's game over to begin with.

Happy for you mate.

Thanks all, yeah it is so nice to be back in it!

In other news wheels are dropped off at powdercoaters, should be ready end of this weekend / next week now (due to being Easter weekend), I know a few people on here are interested in City Powdercoaters in Brum for their price, so i'll update with my experience (I have used them many times in the past, but it has been a while since i've last used them).

Yep, really interested to see the finished article! Quite tempted to drop the Speedlines up there when I have them!

P.S. Cheers for the tag in that cage post mate - shame it was in Sunderland! :thumb:

Yeah no problem, will update here and the thread about them also.

No problem mate, shame that it was so far away, would have been perfect!

I've used City Powdercoaters a lot many years ago, but not since they've been revamped, so I dropped off my Speedlines to get done.

Here is a pic of them before (sorry for poor pic, only one I have to hand), they were curbed around the outer edges, I had tyres removed a while back, so I supplied just wheels to them.

I then dropped them off and wanted anthracite, they offer 3 different shades, lighter, darker and one inbetween, he said most people opt for inbetween, then asked to see the car and also suggested the inbetween one. So that is £20 a wheel as it is classed as "standard" colour.

I picked them up yesterday, here are the final pics:

For £80 it's utterly bonkers lol.
I also split my centre caps, as they won't powdercoat them (being plastic), but I went to a place nearby and got some paint matched to the wheel colour, so I will have them matching and painted soon.

@///M @Pav thanks lads, yeah such a good price and I'm chuffed!

Pav, I need to get time to paint and lacquer the centre caps to match and also put a nice coat of Gtechniq C5 wheel armour on to protect them, then I'll get the tyres swapped over and on.

So in other news, I got a rear diffuser to replace my burnt one (from when I had the Milltek on my car).
It needs a good clean and a coat of Gtechniq like Mes did to his grilles!

Also what's in the black bags?

The G-Techniq stuff is well worth a go mate. I was so impressed with it.

Blown away by that price for your wheels. I'd be interested to know the longevity of the work. My wheels on the M3 are needing doing, they've gone a bit milky over the years. This is very tempting.

Yeah i've used C5 a lot in the past, rate it highly, after seeing you use C4 I was impressed, then I spoke to my detailing friend, he said just buy a bigger C5 and use it on your trim too, voila  save some money buying a bigger bottle.

I'll keep you updated, yeah for the price they are cheap.
You have a CS don't you (so IIRC CSL wheels, but thinner front wheels)? So they are 19s? So price is a little bit more, but not massively.
