Go pro mounting

Clio 197/200

Go pros.

Where’s the best place to mount for the best view.

Car has recaros and no cage.

So no cage or headrest mounts.

Currently using a suction mount on the screen with cable ties to visor as you need a secondary tether on track.

Cheers

Suction mount on the back of the Recaro? That's what I'm thinking of trying out.

I've got a clamp mount which i mount on the passenger seat. I found that suction mounts don't work on the recaro's back as the surface/trim is not smooth enough.

The view is this;

Another view that I like (mainly when running dual cameras though) is from the rear passenger window with the seat down. Suction mount works a treat there.

My favourite is from outside the car on the driver's rear window but not really an option on track days. You can run a mic from within the car all the way to where the groove is for opening the boot, Use some duct tape to kill the wind.

Hope that helps.

I’ve stuck a pad onto the centre of the dash above the clock display.
Gets a nice field of view and easy to reach for turning on and off etc.

The dirtiest ever DYI:

I've later re-done this way more accurately, but all in all the concept stays the same. Two holes in a brick of wood. Done.

The video looks like this:
