Hi all bulb went out on my 200 there h1 bulbs fitted a new one and it turned red-hot and stopped working so I got another bulb and it won't work at all any ideas

When my bulb blew it took the fuse out as well. Have you checked it? Dont ask me which one coz I got the garage to do it as I didnt have time. All I can say is its hidden and various bits have to be taken out to get to it.
Dont know Im afraid. But it was my passenger headlight that blew also but the drivers side still worked. It knocked out the fuse for the levelling motor as well, so my garage said. The bulb blew again about 4 weeks later but no fuses blown that time. Decided to upgrade and fit more expensive bulbs as they are a pain to replace. so far after 6 months and 5,000 miles of night driving the new bulbs havent blown and I can see where I am going.
So had a look in the engine bay there's two small fuse boxes in it one with 5 or so rather large fuses and one with 4 or 5 relays do you know which I should be looking at
