Last week i received new wheel bearing from Germany.
Brand was "optimal".
Monday one of my friend pressed new bearing for rear disc.
Yesterday i installed disc into my car. See result from video. Sorry Finnish speaking
Nut is properly torqued to 175nm - newton meters.

I took left disc and put that for right side, it is fine. So axle is not worn.
Now i have to order 2 discs including new bearings. Lets see how it goes.

I had the same problem with a cheap set of rear discs with my Clio 172 and made a promise that I will only buy genuine rear discs the story was I bought rear discs £60 each and the genuine ones cost £85 each at the end one of the cheap bearings failed and the disc was overheated so I had to buy another disc it was the same model and part number but the ABS ring was loose so I had to put cable tie pieces under the ring to pack it out and stop it slipping without any thing touching it, the job was good but that disc bearing failed so I had to spend another £60 for two new SNR bearings that come in the genuine disc to finally fix it. I have just bought two genuine 197 discs £160 for the pair and SNR bearings are fitted and guess what made by Brembo but Brembo do not list a rear disc for the car this is why Genuine discs are more expensive.

I got them from Renault parts Direct but I do not understand online shop they were £180 now are £320 but there eBay shop with free postage the pair were £160 last ones by the way and delivered yesterday genuine boxes as well and factory painted. I notice the bearing is against the back circlip and a few mm space to the bottom of the hole I would check the gap to the back sensor when fitted and alignment between the brake pad mounts to make sure the bearing is in the right position you could get a false torque when fitting as the bearing can still move and come loose.

Today i received delivery from Germany. There was Zimmermann discs.

First i look what kind of bearings those got. Bearings were SNR. @turkie172 you said that original parts use same type bearing? Then quality should be good.

Fitment was really tight.
I have to use 36mm socket + hammer to push bearing to hub.
When nut is 175nm torqued bearings are tight and just what i want.
I painted middle sections with silver heat resistant paint.

This time of year i am full of rear bearings and discs, i hope those will be fine now.

Make sure there is a gap for the sensor ring at the back if too close the sensor will rub to much gap the sensor will not pick up the ring and the ABS light will come on. My bearing is up against the circlip

Great job I have the same to do to mine and the Manifold as well the genuine front discs arrived yesterday Genuine but no Brembo markings on them but right part number and genuine boxes.

Left flexi it has been happening over time the wire mesh has been corroding since I got the car 2015 when I bought it and replacing the engine torque and bottom engine mounts has made it last this long I have a little used genuine manifold I bought in 2015 and a new gasket cost £150 then so waiting for it to happen so straight swap over. I'm still nervous about dropping the sub frame and possible damage to exhaust studs and steering problems if I disconnect the steering I might unbolt the steering rack instead might put it on a lift tomorrow and see what's needed maybe check the manifold stud bolts that will decide it.

2018 Plans..

Yesterday i lifted clio up with 2 jacks, and took lower protection off from engine.
There is no any leaks from oil pan.
So i can be happy that my sump gasket replacement was success.
This time of winter i dont have anything more to do with car, so it is under cover in +20celsius dry garage.

We have full winter here, 37centimetres of snow and next week forecast says it would be -10celsius for whole week. I enjoy it, they cannot salt roads and it is so much better to drive.
May would be good month abandon winterbeater, and take clio for drive.
Weather is kind of crap until beginning of may here. Snow, salt etc..

I dont know what will be next thing to fix, i hope car runs well next summer season.

Handbrake cables..

I bought new handbrake cables, as they are worn (water goes inside and freezes).
Last winter i had interesting days after wash handbrake was totally frozen.
I have plans to replace cables within next weeks, i dont know if diffusor has to be removed for access..?

I swapped winter tyres for summer tyres today.

There is little problem with original wheel centre caps.
Centre cap fitment is not tight, and they will fall off.
I rounded little bit of electrical tape around centre caps fixings, just to make fitment better.. you know.
I hope they will stay in wheels.
I recently bought new set of china caps from aliexpress, and those clip on like they should, but original ones are too loose. China made are not like original by design, thats why i want to use original centre caps in my summer wheels.
Any ideas?
