Brake cooling

There are many DIY approaches for that topic as you may know. Some days ago I had a look into the parts catalogue for the Clio R3 and found this here. I thought it maybe is interesting for at least the people that visit a track here and then.

These should at least fit the 197 from what I can get as it's using the same front apron.

Maybe somebody wants to give it a try and check them out?

And since nobody seems to know how they're actually mounted I did some google-fu and found this.

Seems like they aren't using the holes of the lower lights like I'd have expected but the grill.

I know that a guy also active on this forum who does carbon parts actually is selling some made out of fiberglass but they're 130,- € plus another 30,- € for shipping. Not sure about the quality though. On the photo I saw his parts seem to be missing the mounts for attaching them. That's his Flickr page.

His nickname should be Flacsi. I can also send you his whatsapp or email if needed.

Not sure what the original ones from Renault cost but from what I get you've somebody in here who can organise original parts for good prices. I'd assume they're actually cheaper but that's just a guess.

I was just at the dealer and asked if they can order the parts and what they would cost. They can't order them via their system but they could tell me the approximate price. Please fasten your seatbelts now. They cost about 600,- € per piece!!!

I tried to call the parts guys from Renault Sport Germany because I have my doubts they gave me the right price at the dealer but had no luck. Going to try it again tomorrow and if I can't get anybody on the line I'm going to write them an email.

Price from the Renault is £451.23 & £484.83 inc vat for part 1 & 2. These are on back order.

I've checked back with Renault Sport Germany about the brake cooling ducts and they've sent me an offer.

They want 1131.07 € including tax. cgrvrIY.gif

For comparison. A set of original ducts from Porsche costs about 20,- €.
