Hero wheels are on!

A brand new set RRP's between £1260 or £1360 dependent on which spec you go for, I picked these up second hand though!

Not a budget set of wheels by any means then! Absolutely beautiful though!!

These are ATS GTR, right? Why do you call them "hero wheels"? They're quite good from what I heard so far as they only weigh 8.2kg.

IIRC the hub caps should at least fit at the rear? I also saw some Clios with these rims that had caps at the front but I've no clue how they managed to fit them. Most people just seem to leave them out anyway.

What I find a little strange are the dents you can see in the third pic. They surely shouldn't be there. Did you bought the rims new?

Btw, our dealer here offers them for 298,- € per piece in anthracite but you've to order at least two sets.

Yeah ATS GTR, 'hero wheels' is what Chris calls them, I guess it's a bit of an inside joke. :tearsofjoy:
Yeah the cheaper option is 8.2kg, the more expensive 'lightweight' option, apparently shaves another kg off each wheel.

They don't fit the rear on mine, perhaps if the hub cover is removed, but they all literally popped off when the wheels were tightened. Apparently running 5mm spacers gives enough room to get them on, and a lot of people run 10mm front and 5mm rear with these wheels it seems.
As I stated above, the wheels were purchased as 'used'.

Ahhhh...I see.
I'm not sure but I guess the lighter ones you're refering to are actually ATS DTC and they come in 7,5x17 and not 8x17 like the GTRs. Which presumably is one of the reason for the lower weight.

Makes sense that they fit with spacers.
I obviously have missed that part. :relaxed:

Ah no the ATS DTC is a different wheel, the 'ATS GTR' also have a 'ATS GTR Evo' variant, they cost an extra £25 per wheel, and the description says it's a weight reduction of 0.6-1kg, I don't know anyone with them to confirm this though!

EDIT: I have just read, skimming through other forums, that the Evo is not TUV approved and is only for track use.

What do you care about TÜV? I thought cars on your island basically only need to have functioning indicators and brakes? :tongueout:

They look brilliant mate. Decent weight saving too. You’re not too far how much weight we saved with ours so I hope you felt as much of a difference in the driving as we did. I was surprised!

Shame about the centres. Have you got a plan for sorted for neatening them up?

Anyway, look superb. Cool to see something different.
