Big Bens non Clio

Cheers mate  Looking forward to your thoughts on braided lines. Wanting to get them done soon too as the pedal feel isn't the best with the original hoses being nearly 10 years old.
Davinder..they aren't too expensive and if you do track days, then i would recommend to upgrade...

Rear brakes seem to get stuck on after washing car. I deliberately leave handbrake off to try avoid this.
after washing car Sunday and parking up in garage just tried to reverse out and had to give it a bit of gas to get the brakes to release!!
Audible clunk is horrible. Am I causing damage? Caliper not releasing properly?
Think I’ve read about this before. Wondered if anyone knew a cure...?

Not sure of a cute but mine do it sometimes either after the car has been washed or even after a heavy rainfall

do you service your brakes yourself Ben??

if not i recommend to have a garage do it at least 2x a year..i've done mine since i bought it and never had any brake related issues..

By servicing do you mean regreasing the pads or stripping the callipers as well?

yeah..the fronts are easy..i just remove the pads..clean everything and put back together..
the rears are a bit trickier..take the caliper apart,sliders,pins..clean everything, lube and i use liquid molly paste..better than the orange stuff..

Ben, did you change the springs on the rear calipers? I think I previously recommended you that? They are easy to change and has stopped mine doing the same (this was coupled with new discs and pass all round though).

Hi Suj. Yes I did change the springs mate a few weeks ago! Hasn’t helped for me. I’ve had the rears apart, cleaned and regreased in the summer
But still getting them sticking on!
Will just have to drive for a bit after washing to get all the water off before putting in garage

Hmmm that's odd, my old 740iL used to do the same, but as it was an auto I just stopped using the handbrake (leaving it in Park) and it never did it again haha.

Good suggestion Micah unfortunately Johnny just scuppered that idea!!

My car is having new Brembo front discs fitted tomorrow. Braided lines also fitted all round with ATE fluid change. Rear calipers will be stripped, cleaned and lubed at the same time.

Everything will be spot on after this touch wood:thumb:

Doesn’t look like I’ll do any more track time this year. Weather is the real turn off.

Just waiting for April 2018 Spa dates to be released so I can book that. Probably a warm up at Snetterton before that with hopefully a few of you boys:sunglasses:

Can't wait to hear what the braided lines are like for you mate! Depending on date I may well join you at Snetterton, it's on my to do list!

I don’t ever use handbrake on my Clio either Pav. Still the rears stick sometimes after coming into contact with water!

strange...think you have done maximum to sort it out yourself..maybe the garage will be able to find what it causes...
fingers crossed
