but it's not 2018 yet!
congrats ben. happy for you.

don't tell me you're considering moving to the dark side, are you?

Of course not Peter! I will never drop my NA lump, the sound alone is worth it:smile: But always good to hear people's reviews about this conversion.

Not a fan of the gearbox yet. It has a short shifter and everything is feeling a bit mushy. Hoping the fresh oil will work its magic over the next couple hundred miles and I’ll obviously get more familiar with it.

it's a turbo now, ben. put it in third and leave it in third.

phew. not long before we're a minority.

I'm genuinely really happy for you mate, also very excited to see it at Bedford! Might have to sneak a cheeky little black badge on the front though

Bloody brilliant Ben, really pleased it’s back and you can get to grips with it. Car looks great, the 197 definitely looks more aggressive. Looking forward to seeing it on the 4th.

Tremendous news, Ben! Not so long in the end then, which is great. Glad you're happy with it so far, hope the love continues to grow and you have a trouble-free future! Also, I hope it lives up to all the hype

Thanks Jimmy. Yep 4 weeks but don’t think anything much was done for the first part so do believe it can easy be done in 2.
Have to say it’s slightly quicker in stock trim than I expected. Larger injectors and a remap should be quite interesting:sunglasses:

Little update:

Getting more and more used to the car now it’s been megged. Really is a great package. Gearbox is becoming easier to use and the torque is addictive!!
Found the car much easier to control on the throttle through corners in NA setup though. Still pushing wide as boost kicks in so need to adjust my technique a bit. Not sure the LSD can compensate for my clumsiness lol(All testing done on private racetrack)
Contemplating an upgrade to my DS2500 front pads. Will be carrying more speed now into braking areas so think extra stopping power wouldn’t hurt. Some braided lines courtesy of @Sean197 to be fitted with new pads.
Had to be blue of course!!

Uprated pads would be good, although I was fine on standards with MTec discs.
If you like it now you'll love it after the map - I remember coming out of RS Tuning and turning onto the bypass, I floored it in 2nd and nearly rear ended a car about half a mile down the road LOL

Like the sound of that..!
Having a few niggles ironed out Saturday back at Beaniesport then mapped at ED Wednesday. Should be spot on there on after. 270/280 the target

Awesome Ben, and nice change to the thread name too. Sounds like Bedford will be the perfect place to hone your driving style and 'tame the beast'

Exactly Micah. Would strongly advise anyone wishing for a passenger lap to wait until the afternoon session so as I have time to have a few ‘moments’ on my own in the morning:grinning:
