Sometimes knowing a car’s history is invaluable.
I bought a 2007 R27 with only 54,000 miles a few months ago. I’ve since spent £1000s refreshing the whole suspension, brakes, changing wheels and tyres, full belts service and little bits here and there. So far I’m not too far away from where you’re looking. Bonkers I know, but I really wanted an R27.
So what I’m trying to say is, it’s swings and roundabouts, buy newer and get something that is still in great condition and doesn’t need too much expenditure, or buy older and be ready for possible bills. I’ve always bought with my heart, which has as you’d imagine not always turned out well, but cars to me are more than just transport and more about something you love and can cherish, whether that be thrashing the living daylights out of it on track or polishing it every Sunday and showing it.
Good luck and post some photos of your final choice once it’s arrived
