Corroded subframe / radiator support bracket

My front subframe / radiator support bracket is heavily corroded and needs replacing, one of the bolt holes for the undertray is non-existent and any more poking around will make it worse.

Does anyone know the correct name for this part and if it's the same for all Clio models or is it 197/200 specific? I couldn't find much help online and I think I've found a couple on eBay but not 100% sure it's the right part!

I understand this is common to corrode but I think with mine coming from Scotland it's probably corroded a bit quick!

Many thanks

Call up a local dealership and speak to the parts dept. They'll help you out with part numbers and tell you if they're specific, which I wouldn't have thought so.
Or take a picture and send it to a Renault breakers and ask for that part.

That's helpful, cheers for that. I'll have a look to see if I can find it on there, if not I'll pop into my local dealer, may be worth getting a price on a new one anyway. It's just hard to get a photo of it because the undertray covers it and I don't have access to a ramp so just want to double check before I buy the wrong part.

From memory it's about £170 for a Genuine Renault one. That was 6 months ago

Hi I have the same problem with mine iIt was in for its for MOT ( now 10 years old) and the cross member was an advise as its corrodied. Then tonight i heard a flapping under the car and when i pulled over the plastic subframe protector/shield was only held on with one bolt.. when i eventually got it off the car i found the centre bolt on of the head of the shield has part of the corroded frame still attached...cannot believe how bad it is....Question is how easy is it to fit yourself or should i just put in the garage to replace?sf.jpg

Took me about an hour. The only problem i had was that the inserts weren't fitted for the bracket on the passenger side - had to drill a couple of extra holes and fit inserts.

Thanks, I'll see if i can order the parts and do it myself then..also need to get a new under tray as there is still part of the old one stuck in a bolt hole but the looks of it. I am shocked how badly corrodied it is as looking through the grill tonight i can see the front bumper guard is nearly hanging on.

This corroded radiator support seems to be common problem.

Here is small set of instructions for replacement:

1. Lift car up , put jack stands, so car is in nice balance and you have enough room to work under car.
2. Remove undertray
3. Remove inner wings
4. Remove front bumper (see how-to section).
5. Support radiator that it would not drop down when you remove radiator support.
6. Remove bolts from front of the support and side.

If i remember correctly now you can remove this radiator support.

Here is picture how i supported my radiator before i drop the radiator support bar
