Clio 197 Ultra Red 2007 from Finland. April, time to start driving.

Some more pictures. I would say that colour match is just perfect.

New paintwork, lot of clearcoat. Original paint is 120-135um all around. Those re-painted surfaces are about 270-290um. It is really easy to know with paint meter what parts of the car has been painted after factory.

My drivers seat lower section is in poor state. Do you know how expensive new foam + seat fabric trim is from renault? I think that foam is smashed too because it is not as good if you compare with other seat.

I've not heard of Renault supplying the foam and fabric, however knowing Renault, if they did it would probably work out cheaper to buy a replacement seat base! Do you have any local re-upholsterers who could do the work/supply the materials?

I have to find out, i must buy new or used really good seat base foam. About the trim material, i am not so sure is that available. I will ask tomorrow from renault how much it will be if i buy that foam + trim parts from marmor palace. There is some info that those parts will be over 1000eur.
There is no second hand seats or parts available :/

Clutch pedal is squeeking. First replacement will be clutch master cylinder.
I hope it solves that squeek noise.

Saturday i did some interior washing. Kärcher machine is really effective!
Seats were clean in my opinion before washing. .. they were not!

Here you can see waste water from machine how dirty my seats were.

I took drivers seat off yesterday and took it for fabric repair shop.
I hope she can fix driver seat side bolster. New foam part and fabric are really expensive. Not option.

Hello again
Bad news from trimmers.
They said buy new foam and fabric. I found out, that i also need replacement seat heating element which is complete including lower and higher part. Seat heating element alone costs over 400£. It is glued in foam and not possible to remove without damaging it.
So total will be almost 800£ for parts only and labour for trimmer...

I dont want to spend extra 1000£ for this car ( at least one seat.. ).
So i told them that fix it as good they get it with old foam.

Some pics which i took yesterday when i visited trimmer shop. They said this is usual thing and lot of car dealers bring car seats because of similar damage. Many customers dont want car if seat is broken.

My god mate, what a crazy situation! 400 big ones for a bit of foam!?

Seems like you've made the right decision, looks good from here.

Looks a good job in the photos Antti.
Are you happy with it?

I think it is good enough for that price. They said it was impossible to fix it like new because also fabric was worn.

Yep correct. Parts (foam+fabric trim+heater elements) approx 800£. Too much for me.
Some renault parts are really silly expensive..

I share your pain Antti, my other car is a BMW, I know all about over priced parts!

A Clio GT 2009 uses the same shape of seat with different covers but I thought the foam was around £130 the heating elements around £80 I know the covers are expensive £200 an option would be look for a rear seat buy the whole thing and just ask for the covers to be sent there should be enough used/ aged material to repair the bolster the foam should be repairable upload_2017-6-21_10-44-32.png
