Pav's Albi Blue 197T

Pav, sorry to hear about the struggles with the heat, something we're all having to deal with right now! You'll get it sorted I'm sure. At least it's running well now so you can enjoy it.

Great pics though! Look how much better Albi looks next to that BMW blue!

Looks like a nice day out Pavster - glad you managed to get somewhere in the end. Hope you took your sunglasses to the beach, so you could 'enjoy the views' subtly

Sorry to hear about the high temps bud, I hope Trevor can work his magic again. This heatwave definitely won't have helped, but you know the witch inside and out, so you'll know when she needs some fettling....

@Pav your issues go beyond needing water wetter mate.

Agreed ! Seeing as Pav had already stated he would be contacting Trevor; and the fact i said i'd leave the mechanicals to him - i thought t was obvious my suggestion was a potential aswell-as : not an instead of.

Sorry if anyone misunderstood that.

it does, doesnt it?was thinking that too..much better colour imo..
we will see..think the system needs a proper flush and a new radiator on top..may ad a bit of a water wetter or other additive to stay on a safe side..

i certainly did Jimmy but in all fairness, there wasnt much to look at..families with screaming kids so you get the picture..
yeah pretty sure Trev can sort it but it means having no car again..think i will have to throw a big welcome party once she is back with no issues :thumb:

Syer I spent a few hours on youtube last night looking into these additives..they arent bad at all from what i saw..may get a bottle and throw it in since it can be mixed with water and antifreeze..cheers for that buddy :thumb:

Car is looking soooo good, blimey those mk3 clios are gorgeous little hatchbacks..

Pav aren't heat troubles something that all megged clios suffer from mate? Don't they fit the megane radiators to cure it or am I talking nonsense?

thank you very much..thats what i thought when i saw the photos on my pc..such great looking cars!!
yeah i did fit a meg radiator but think it needs flushing the coolant out and fitting a brand new radiator...hope it cures it or i really dont know what it may be..

Hello Pav, I have the same problem with my Clio. I also a new megane radiator, but that didn't solve the problem. I've found a very small coolant leak though, I think it gets some air in the system via that leak. Maybe it's worthwile to check yours for any minor leaks.

tried looking everywhere..no puddles or visible leaks anywhere..will be ordering a new radiator soon..also got 10l of distilled water and some rad flush fluid to flush the system..see if that helps..thanks for any input

sounds like a daft question but is this the one blowing hot/cold air in your footwell area??

doesn't matter, just put the heater on full hot and full blast once the engine has warmed up. If it's blowing out cold air even when the engine is up to temp then the system needs bled.

yeah I thought about it, but once I'd actually driven the car properly in anger (full day at Spa) I realised I didn't actually need any.
Furry muff. Pavs engine sounds like it
Not quite cooling sufficiently then.

it's a strange one. If my clio rad is cooling mine enough then Pav's megane radiator should be working fine, especially with no leaks. It certainly shouldn't be over 100degrees when mine is only going up to 92!

How are you measuring the temperature so accurately Sean?
Have you installed an external gauge?

no thats absolutely fine..its blowing a very hot air mate!!very hot..think i could fry eggs in my cars just using the bloody air :tearsofjoy:
yeah i think i need a new rad since we had a leak at the beginning and we had to use a radwed fluid to seal it..think it sealed it a bit too much and now it cant cope with its load..also heard that stuff is evil so it needs a proper system flush to get rid of it..
any rads you can recommend guys??find a few but not sure whether to go for it since they all are about a£100..rpd sell a r26 rad for £190..that would be great but since my bank is broke,i will gladly consider any other cheaper option (brand new though)
thanks
and @Big Ben Ben,the Turbo Gauge is brilliant !!gives you lots of important info about your car..well worth your money..
