Shuv's Racing Blue 200...................

Like: 'Thanks' for the awesome seat-porn pics buddy

I'm going to a trimmer local to me James. Being local was a large draw....and from that i can keep an eye on things. He's also really good - if a little one-dimensional and stuck in his own little bubble. But i digress.

I'm pretty sure i'm now sorted with the logo's locally anyway now. Shame i had to do all the leg-work myself !

And thanks @Johnny 99 . "As above" in response to your helpful suggestions:smile:

Haven't checked your thread for a while Shuv. I get why you're using a local guy. Looking forward to seeing the results!

Cheers Johnny. Appears the logo might be the biggest hurdle.....

Fingers crossed I'll get an answer tomorrow after they've done a 'test' on my leather.

Then I'm dropping the two headrest pieces to them and disappearing abroad for two weeks.

Fingers crossed again: upon my return the logos will be done and my trimmer will be ready to start !

Thankyou very much my friend....

And told today i've got pay-review / rise discussions with my boss first day back.

Life is good !

Crap luck on the seat decals, hope all goes well with the testing

Ahh, pay review, 'we have reviewed your performance over the last year, we also heard your getting new leather seats in your car and are off on a foreign holiday, we can see you have worked harder than ever this past year but we think you getting paid enough'

Hahaha - pmpl. You sound just like the big boss.

Play hard - work harder still.
The company does very nicely out of me. And my superiors know that.

I've already been told I'm getting an increase. Just a case of 'fighting' out how much

Ps, still haven't got my expansion cover on yet! Just been so busy, looks the biz too, take it it's just a few dobs of silicon?

Was recently talked about in one of the group-buy Carbon threads bud. And the exact type mentioned I might add.

3M very heavy duty: doubled sided foam tape was the choice of many. Inc me: with no issues

I'm not upto Gordini's rate of progress on my re-trim (Dont his look just gorgeous - even at this early stage). But at least i'm now actually going forward

Got this reply from the embroiderer today in ref to the 'test' they carried out on my leather after being unhappy with the embroidery backing showing through:

"Hi Syer

We've tried the backing and it seems to work fine so please drop in the leather so that we can make a start.

Kind regards
Ruth"

And me being me i'm taking zero chances; so i replied to that email telling them EXACTLY what i require. And i shall also be dropping this in when i hand over the leather:

And on the off-chance someone is having a bad day at the office:

IMG_6641_zpsra1g2viz.jpg

Not too exciting and doesnt look much. And the effort thats gone in so far is completely disproportionate to what i'm actually doing. Which is getting a 'simple' logo stitched in a small piece of leather !

Happy days and all part of the doing this type of project........

Thanks Shuv. You're making excellent progress and that's good news about the logos. Remember mine have been waiting something like 7 months!!

Great news mate. And absolutely LOVE the level of attention you're giving this. A good end result only comes from what you put in eh? These are going to be gorgeous.

That's some good news, Shuv, I'm really pleased that things are starting to move in the right direction for you. Excitement can start building again now

I love it when people born in the '60s & '70s draw up these plans. Some measurements in inches & others in milimetres! Probably exactly what I would have done. Made me smile Shuv.

And i thought i was a hard task-master Jon

The logo needed to be 4.5" up to the centre. And the trimmer works in inches so he cut the panels 10 x 20".

Perhaps Recaro work in MM. Because there was no doubt the logo was 70mm wide. You must remember i'm an Engineer. If i got that drawing given to me at work - i myself would have pi55ed my pants: thinking "what clown did this" !

But what choice did i have ? lol

I managed to w̶a̶n̶k̶ ̶a̶w̶a̶y̶ ̶s̶o̶m̶e̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶ ̶t̶o̶d̶a̶y̶ use my ample break-time wisely and visit the embroider today to take my freshly cut pieces of leather in. Just aswell i'd ordered a large cow and had plenty spare...... :sunglasses:

SHE and the resulting RECARO logo are going to be the dog danglies i have no doubt. She was mid 50's perhaps, will have seen and done it all before, was very studious and 'into' what she does. And she's the proprietor so has a vested interest.

She had already tried numerous different backing's on my leather which she'd then embroidered onto: to trial it in operation. And she'd then also done 3 or 4 slightly different sized / thicknesses of lettering of RECARO logo's on some fabric so i could see which one i liked. Which i saw and looked awesome. Wish i'd have had a camera to hand.

The irony of all this faffing around to this point; is the fact she's literally 1 mile from my house. DOH.......
