After so much talk of Recaros and the nightmare that is the tissue paper fabric yesterday, I was a bit disappointed with the care I'd taken in getting into the car for the past 7 months. They were still in great condition but I didn't want to face a retrim in the future.
To my utter amazement, Steve Murr had put a set of leather ones up for sale last night and we got chatting. Long story short, I popped up to him this morning and we had them fitted in 30 minutes. If he hadn't taken me out in the Raider a couple of weeks ago, I'd have just passed these by. They are more cushioned and an absolute pleasure to be in.
Overall I am really happy as the car is running so sweet now, I am properly back in love with it again.

Oh Micah! Good on you! I wondered who had snapped these up so quickly, & fitted too! So pleased for you mate after the rubbish time you've had with the car recently. They're the mutt's nuts. Enjoy your car again bud.

Yes Mes, the original owner of my car, who ordered the seats from new had extra padding put in. I hope my seats won't suffer from the effects described in Shuv's thread being wholly leather without alcantara as a result. Personally I much prefer the full leather look to the leather/alcantara look. My wife's old Civic sport had leather/alcantara seats & whilst they were better than cloth I always felt full leather would've been the real deal.

If you look after them and keep them well conditioned you should be fine. There's always going to be some natural sag if you do a lot of miles in them but if well cared for they last really well. I've seen a lot of high miles leather that still looks fantastic. Key is to not let it dry out.

After a bit of a late night, I had to do the thing I had been putting off for weeks. Not sure how I got so lazy and uninterested in detailing but it was well overdue a clean.
Snow foam, Gold Class shampoo, Poorboys Black Hole and A coat of Collinite.
Has scrubbed up rather well!

I bought some Black Hole a while ago - but havn't used it yet (For bumpers, diffuser etc)

You always been a user Micah....is it really that good, or.....?

First time I used it today and wasn't really sure at first. I then popped out to Morrisons to get some doughnuts, and walking back to the car I had to do a double take. There was so much depth in the paintwork I was really impressed. Bearing in mind I also waxed it I can't really say what the split is in terms of what made the most impact.
What I will say is that it is a doddle to apply, unlike the wax which was a real bugger to wipe off for some reason.
