Please move if not the right place:
I am in need of oil for my 197, can anyone please advise best/cheapest place to get this? And what is best.

Any advice would be great!

Any 5w40 will be fine. With regards a specific brand, you won't go far wrong with OEM Elf, however a lot of people prefer other brands - it's just down to personal choices. If you contact our site trader @oilman of Opie Oils, he will be able to recommend something for you, and also any offers that they have on at the moment.

I use Millers for every car I've ever owned. Mainly because my local motor factors does a brilliant deal on it

My goodness thats a low price for some oil ! 6 litres at that.

Take it: as you've used it twice now - you rate it ?

Honestly I've no idea if any other oil would be 'better', I bought because of the price and I'd seen it recommended on here.

Loads of posts on this, some recommend OEM, some say a decent branded one (shell, motul, fuchs etc). Think as long as you're not buying it from poundland you'll be fine!

Cheers guys I'll get some tomorrow, and there is no issue with mixing brand is there as I'm not sure what's currently in there!

Or is it always best to do a complete change?

When was the last change? Honestly for the price and effort I'd do a full one if you're comfortable giving it a go.

Last change was last year and was done as part of my service by Ktec. Never done a full change myself before

one of the best things you can do is do a yearly oil change....keeps all the gunk & carbon build up to minimum...massive help to engine longevity!

What is the volume between min and max on the dipstick? Is it only 1 litre?

If you don't regularly do an oil change minimum yearly then the engine will only be knocking on heavens door earlier. It'll also ruin resale value in time

For the price and ease of doing an oil change there is no excuse no matter how many miles you do a year. If you DIY just keep receipts for oil and parts and record the mileage.
