View trip with engine off

Went to reset my service indicator this evening and I can't view my trip computer with the engine switched off... is this normal, never really noticed before but was sure just tapping the start button without the brake or clutch pedal pressed brought the trip computer up? Could be wrong and nothing to worry about
 
Yeah, well I can get it to come on with the key on the slot and hold the buttons for 5 seconds or so... I'm sure it wasn't like that before...

Is anybody else's the same way?
 
Anyone know why my cars doing this then? I did have the battery disconnected at the weekend and had to input my radio code. Also noticed my cruise control is no longer working... wtf?!

I think the Cruise Control will work again if you take it out for a drive, something to do with the sensors needing to 'reset' after reconnecting the battery.

Ok thanks I hope so! I've driven around 10-15 miles already and still isn't working... I'll give it some time before going to get it looked at!
